It was a fun song to do, I had the one verse in my head with nothing written down and just improvised the whole thing in one take.

I like this one at the slower pace, Townes is my hero, I will be looking for it.

@sidshovel his real heyday was back in the 70's and 80's and even then other than a couple hits he never really made the big time like Waylon, Willie, and Cash, but that had more to do with his attitude in my opinion. That's what I meant by would ne…

@ElvisNash yeah if memory serves me I believe he was born around 1938 so he may be there but I doubt he's still performing.
-
@ElvisNash He was raised in Ohio but always acted like he was from the south. Northern Ohio at that. Not sure if he…

I am masquerading as a productive employee right now so I can't play the music yet, but I am so looking forward to doing so. As a man of a certain age, I can already relate to the lyrics.
-
@behengen, I should also mention that the chorus made me think it could be someone's story who may be in recovery from some kind of substance abuse.
-
Is the author a man, or is he a butterfly? It's a bit of a paradox to be certain. Nice writing Bhengen

Very relatable subject matter, as soon as I saw the title, I thought...This should be good. And, not surprisingly, it was.
I was thinking something along the lines of Bernie Madoff with the cash, but got something much more substantial.

I like what you have going on here, a little dark like Elvis said, but anger paranoia, and misinformation drive a lot the world.
Digging Verse 1
And the way they use children
The powers-that-wanna-be - I absolutely love thi…

Thanks for giving this thing a listen, it was fun to do. Back then in the forum they would have themes going on like everyone do a cowboy song, or a Christmas song, I think this was my attempt at a blues song thing. It was fun to step out of your co…

Very well written

JT is the man, you did a nice job on the cover Elvis.

Really nice guitar work on this one Renee, who needs backing tracks when you can play like that. It's not just you, it seems to be abundant if you look for it, I'm trying to seek out the smiles.

My favorite verse is:
Monday’s Millionaires
When you hand ‘em five bucks
It’s like hitting the Lottery
The meal-ticket they’ve struck
And I often imagine
As I’m sitting at a red light
If I would have the …

I'm thinking more 50's than 60's but you're nailing it Tommy. Songs from a simpler time for sure.
I have to ask what coda is though?
Keep em coming

I like the structure of the first verse a lot, it's a trick I try to do when writing where the first line ends in 2 syllables and the next with one, and if I can make the first line rhyme with the third, and the 2nd with the 4th even better.

"I'm still a young man
In an old mans dream"
AS an old man myself, I can def relate to this song, and especially those lines. Digging on that guitar work Toney. Music really can take you to a different place and time so I can see him …

I have been experimenting with AI, trying to figure out how to best create my vision for a song using AI. I like this version so much better than the original. This time we have a more somber mood with the music, and I believe I've figured out ho…

That was Crow Magnum Elvis, and I mean that in a good way! The music was outstanding and fit those fine lyrics nicely.
That Saxaphone? All i can say is wow! I enjoyed the song and the video a lot.

Sid, she's all yours. Do with her what you will. I look forward to seeing what it becomes.

Rob, All I meant to say by my comment was that those who stick it out and make it in Nashville need to have calloused skin, much like the unnamed star you mentioned they have to take a lot of rejection while growing a network before the door is …

Just came back for another listen, this song is one I can enjoy over and over. It takes me back to a simpler time in my life.
-
Renee, I started to add even if it's you. Stop that! Send out positive vibes and get positive back, and visa versa

That funk is going around, I've had it myself just like most people. Your song reminded me I did a blues tune that I actually sang myself, if I can find it, I might post it up this weekend.
As usual, you had me Ooooh Oiooing along with you…
