The harlot empress

https://suno.com/song/e06748e8-be2a-4f05-af3e-4b5c7b249d2d

Still continuing on with the Theodora of byzantine, There was a secret history written by Procopius, the court historian..

I got this concept from listening to Karn Evil 9 by ELP.. and part of the court of the crimson king. not as eloquent or as abstract as I would like. But I've only been writing seriously for about a month..

this is more structured to odd time meters 9/8 and 6/8, rather than the standard 4/4. except for the outro.. which to resolve it's 4/4 .. Unfortunately, Suno, doesn't give you that option, so I have to make do until I learn how to work a DAW.

this isn't folksy, it's not meant to be. it's meant to make you think, which is the point of prog rock.. to experiment, get out of the box. be unique, be different, to escape into the abstract. to scratch an itch in your mind.

[Intro]

[Rolling drums]

Welcome, welcome my friends, do come and stay

We've got quite the show, please come this way.

We got it all, power, lust, greed, and oh,

Its guaranteed blood will flow, and it will flow

[Verse 1]

This is where it gets juicy, from what I'm told

Please listen carefully, as the story unfolds.

You see, she is not who she claims to be

From what I've read in the secret history

[Verse 2]

Although I should be clear and to be fair,

There are other accounts that came to air

As we all know, and for this, I'll let you deem

There are two sides in this story, so it seems

[Orchestral solo]

[Verse 3]

But for this tale, and this I'll hold steadfast,

In the darkest light, to this tale I'll cast

I'll stay very true to the secret history

Or as close to possible, as I out to be

[Verse 4]

In the dark of the night, under moonlight's glow,

Her hips sway gently with the soft winds' blow

With her black soulless eyes, your soul she'll take

She's cold and sly, like a venomous snake

[Chorus]

A humble seamstress in the light of day

To the god of light, she devoutly prays

As the sun slowly fades into the horizons regress

She rises from the black, the harlot empress

[Verse 5]

Their eyes lock across the dimly lit room

A new romance, a newfound love set to bloom,

He's a man of wealth, an emperor to be

He's a mark to her, somebody that'll set her free

[Verse 6]

Ascension to power came quick but not clean

Swift blades and bribery, it was quite the scene

In the shadows is a silent witness to it all

Money and whores, and watching the bodies fall

[Orchestral solo]

[Chorus]

A humble seamstress in the light of day

To the god of light, she devoutly prays

As the sun slowly fades into the horizons regress

She rises from the black, the harlot empress

[Verse 7]

Harboring whores and monks in the palace walls,

Justinian, as noted, remained blind to it all,

Well, from what I've read, so it was claimed

Or maybe a blinds eye, for him to defer blame

[Verse 8]

Interfering in matters of state and secret deals

All funded by unclean hands, fates were sealed.

Oh, an impalement or two, that can't be true,

for this, my friends, I'll leave up to you.

[Electric Guitar solo]

[Chorus]

A humble seamstress in the light of day

To the god of light, she devoutly prays

As the sun slowly fades into the horizons regress

She rises from the black, the harlot empress

[Verse 9]

Sad or not, you'll decide, was her fate

Taken out in her prime, we all can relate

Was it cancer or by divine retribution

God's hand or by Satan's execution

[Outro]

[Spoken]

This story, like all stories must end,

With this thought, to you I'll send

Conspiracy theories hidden in plain text

Can mire the true when taken out of context

  • Very nice, I felt like I was having a story read to me. The intro reminded me of and ELP song called See the how, and the story made me think of Led Zeppelin I enjoyed it
  • Sounds like it should be a broadway show in New York

    Pretty cool stuff

  • @barry, @ElvisNash thanks for the comments. lyrics still need work. but it'l get there

Seems there to me , problem is... can AI do re-sings on same melody ? probably can if your more knowlegable how AI works in the new V4 program.

  • @ElvisNash , you can to a point.. i know there are other prompts you can list.. my only issue with sonu, is that the female and male voices all sound the same, even with different genres selected.. what some are doing, and I think you mentioned this, is taking it do a DAW and cleaning it up.

What I do is steal a melody from AI on some songs and record with live session players , I'm not concerned on mess ups on AI , we correct them in studios. I find the robot voices good , but a bit mechanical , that's to be expected its machines . Say AI repeats v2 again , I don't worry about it , it's just a blueprint . Say today going to studio , session player messed up bridge , I can fix it with pro tools in about 10 minutes . I've been working with this producer for about a year or 2 , I forget , I can sing them in half hour or so. Then other studio tunes the voice meloynyne if need be . I don't sing them 300 times lol

  • @ElvisNash it's cool that you know how to do that.. makes life easier

Stealing from AI is no different than stealing from artists before you on albums that you listen to , just a faster process . You can bet hit writers and producers are stealing from someone. How many songs have you heard that are similar to others ones ? Quite a few . Unless you were born Bach.

  • @bhengen yet another masterpiece and reminds me that history truly is written by the victors. We MUST go deeper than the cooked HIStory books. Nice job doing so. Absolutely marvelous music to go with your tale of truth and conspiracy!

    Your devout fan,

    Renee

  • @ElvisNash that's true to a point, however, with suno I own the rights. in the 60's there was a group called the wrecking crew, a group of studio musicians, including glenn cambell that used to write music for various artist. the same with carol king, she used to share studio space with burt bacharach, she heard one of his licks and incorporated that in her music :) what was once called stealing is now called sampling :)

  • @HummerWisdom . Thanks, Renee really appreciate it.. it would be interesting to go back in time and see what really happened. there are two sides to every story and the truth is somewhere in the middle

sampling.... Right lol. I'm not sure you own the rights . I reckon that's where them Sony law suits come in to play , I don't follow the debate much these days

  • @bhengen I find the truth is generally the less popular of the two sides.
