introspection reworded

  [Intro]

A lonely silhouette gazes upon the sea,

  Mind adrift, immersed in contemplation,

As the moonlight dances on the water,

  Awakening memories long abandoned

  [Verse 2]

If you could alter the past,

  Knowing the present remains,

  And new realities appear

Do you still make the choice?

  [Chorus]

If pulling the threads of possibilities,

  You Unravel every decision made

  To answer unresolved questions,

May not bring the peace desired.

  [Verse 3]

  Weighted down by uncertainty,

  Bound by inner demons,

  Perseverance leads to freedom,

  My soul breathes free.

  [Verse 4]

If memories are sparks of life.

  And the subconscious transcends.

Then the mind and soul are liberated,

and Woven into the fabric of time.

  [Chorus]

If pulling the threads of possibilities,

  You Unravel every decision made

  To answer unresolved questions,

May not bring the peace desired.

  [Outro]

The rays from the morning sun

  Reflect off the shimmering sea

  The silhouette resolved in understanding

And knowing what will be, will be

  • Hi,

About 2-3 months ago we had another poet join the forum and submit lyrics.

Like you, he also found it difficult to break away from writing song lyrics in a poetry structure.

His handle was prysmatyk, and it took him a few goes before he got the hang of it.

Your probably having the same issues. My advice would be to go over the discussions involving prysmatyk and follow the advice given to him, I think it applies here also.

    Good luck,

    Sid

  • look at the lyrics for tool schism, they don't fit the typical song structure, and it was one of their biggest hits.. also look at the some of the lyrics for slipknot.. These may not be in typical "song" format, but I'm able to set them to music.
