lyrics SS music/vocals Ai
[intro]
[verse 1]
I didn't think I would make it
Even thought that I could take it
Lose it maybe even break it
I'm heading home to face my crimes
[verse 2]
With you forever by my side
there is no need to run and hide
Feel the turning of the tide
The loudest tolling of the chimes
[chorus]
goodbye to the bad times
leavin' it all behind
goodbye to the bad times
see what I can find
[verse 3]
You picked me up out of the dirt
soothed the places that still hurt
Turned a skeptic to a convert
No begging for nickels and dimes
[chorus]
goodbye to the bad times
leavin' it all behind
goodbye to the bad times
see what I can find
[bridge]
Redemption comes in many ways,
the lowest loss to better days.
A word of thanks, a helping hand,
look of faith, with no demands.
[chorus]
goodbye to the bad times
leavin' it all behind
goodbye to the bad times
see what I can find

Sounds like one of the folk greats like Pete Seager. Definitely professional.

Yep, it does sound like something Pete Seager would have banged out.
No offence to any folk aficionados, but these days, it sounds a bit cheesy and dated.
Not my cup of tea, but worth the experiment.

It's not my cup of tea either but it's pleasant music of a certain time that evolved with other genres to produce the wonderful music that came after.

This one feels like it was written for the sound of it rather than the storyline - and I don't mean that in any negative way, I'm just imagining it as an experiment on those lines, with a focus on the rhyming.
Comes off rather well!

You're right, which is why I probably am a bit tepid about it. The whole thing just didn't sit right for some reason.
It reminds me of those boy bands that are manufactured to be the brand and the music is incidental!
It was an experiment which at least provided me with what not to write or how not to write, interesting.
