“DRINK WITH ME” by Alex_Schmalex
VERSE 1:
The work day has come to an end,
but enough of that nonsense, the night is for friends.
There are beers to be drunk. There are songs to be sung.
Let’s see what adventure this evening will come.
CHORUS 1:
Come drink with me, drink with me, all of my friends.
The morning will be here too soon.
It’s just one more round, or maybe a few,
but there’s no-one I’d rather be toastin’ than you.
POST-CHORUS 1:
Oh, Li-Di-Li, Li-Di, Di Li, Di, Di, Di…
There’s no-one I’d rather be toastin’ than you.
VERSE 2:
Well the world might feel more and more doomed,
but with such fine companions, there’s a light through the gloom.
So raise your drinks to the stars up above,
wishing many more nights filled with friendship and love.
CHORUS 2:
Come drink with me, drink with me, all of my friends.
The morning will be here too soon.
It’s just one more round, or maybe a few,
but there’s no-one I’d rather be toastin’ than you.
POST-CHORUS 2:
Oh, Li-Di-Li, Li-Di, Di Li, Di, Di, Di…
Li, Li-Di, Di Li-Di, Di, Di…
Li, Li-Di, Di, Li-Di, Di, Li-Di, Di, Di…
There’s no-one I’d rather be toastin’ than you.
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
VERSE 3:
Oh where have the hours gone?
Feels like we’ve only just got here, now we must be along.
But before you depart, I have one request.
Just one final drink with you my friends.
CHORUS 3:
Come drink with me, drink with me, all of my friends.
The morning will be here too soon.
It’s just one more round, or maybe a few,
but there’s no-one I’d rather be toastin’ than you.
POST-CHORUS 3:
Oh, Li-Di-Li, Li-Di, Di, Li, Di, Di, Di…
Li, Li-Di, Di Li-Di, Di, Di…
Li, Li-Di, Di, Li-Di, Di, Li-Di, Di, Di…
There’s no-one I’d rather be toastin’ than you.

Nice job man very catchy . for some reason the melody reminded me of Bruce Hornsby get a job
But I'm old that happens to old people , We never think a hit it sounds like in 2026 , its forty years ago lol
Sound good man

Nicely done, relaxed feel good bar song. Reminds me of Piano Man. Sounds good.
Nice job the original recording as well. 👍

Yeah, I think that's kind of understandable with the musical direction that Suno went in with the accompaniment. I prompted it for "Folk-rock, bar song, acoustic guitar solo, piano accompaniment, male vocals" but it definitely went in a more 80/90s soft-rock direction, like Bruce Hornsby, Marc Cohn, Billy Joel, etc.

Thank you!

Thank you. "Piano Man" definitely was an inspiration for the post-choruses (Li-Di-Li, etc).

I like what you have - you mentioned "Piano Man" - I wonder if you are missing an opportunity here by not mentioning characters in each verse -
Oh where have the hours gone?
Sally and Sue say they feel they just got here
But before you depart, I have one request.
Just one final drink with you my friends.

Thanks. Yeah, "Piano Man" is definitely an inspiration for the song. I think I was trying to keep it more of a neutral perspective where everybody listening could be the friends I am singing to.

more and more is redundant, but that's just me.
It's a decent pub chant song, I guess.

It's a fine drinking song! I can imagine people singing it as they're drinking!
Suno has done a great job from your recording too.
I'll try to remember to toast you and this song next time I have a drink!

Thanks @RainyDayMan. The goal was to create a rousing sing-along bar song, so I'm glad it's working!
It is pretty scary what Suno can do from a pretty barebones acoustic recording, though it definitely made some minor adjustments to the melody (maybe I was singing off pitch and it got confused).
It's got a ways to go from being able to create coherent melodies on its own, as it kind of creates a mishmash of random hooks, but with a solid chord progression / melody as a source material, it honestly does sound like a real band / artist doing a decent cover of a song.
I haven't tried the Studio version yet that has more controls of individual tracks etc, as it's pretty expensive still, but it does seem like Suno is quickly replacing producers / artists who would be making demos in the past - not sure if that's a good thing or not, but it is what it is.
