I think you've got the mood down really tight for this type of song.
Lyric's clearly written for a modern audience and your own style - good choice.
For me, it's not clear why it's a toxic love, and I feel like it might be stronger if it was. Verses 3 & 4 sort of walk around it. They tell how you're feeling about it, but "controlling" is the only cause I can pick up on there. This is another one where it's good to get a range of opinions, because for others the feelings might be enough, and the ambiguity may not matter.
But the mood is absolutely spot on.

Verse 3 is a little disjointed. I'm not sure what you are trying to say. verses work top down. Then in the verses they all seem to be acceptance to the toxicity, then the chorus you say it's killing you.

The lyrics are basically saying that the person is addicted to that love, and usually addiction kills
In my opinion, songs aren’t just all about lyrics. It’s more about how they make you feel and how you interpret them. For example, you can listen to perfect lyrics/story, but if they don’t make you feel anything, you won’t listen to the song anymore. For me, that’s why people have different tastes in music. That's why I liked the song you wrote "Morning sun" You gave us a story to imagine and think about, and I could actually feel something. You didn't just tell a story, you made us experience it
