if you're in the breakdown lane, that means your car has died or, you're crawling long until you can get off the highway.
You quote E-street, but all of Bruce's lyrics make sense at every level. even his blinded by the light, which has one of the most misheard lyrics. douche for deuce ;)
You talk about a train, but never expand on that, how does the train make you feel? a change might be - the distant train rollin' on by / seems life is passin by on breakdown lane
