"Whiskey Don't Care At All." Lyric only. Has this already been done to death?????
Gonna hate myself in the morning. -- Too drunk to care tonight.
Might wake up in bed with a stranger. -- Might get into a fight.
Gonna hate myself in the morning. -- It’ll be to late by then.
Right now I’m a no-good son of a gun. -- Just ran off my last good friend.
Whiskey don’t give a damn about me. -- Whiskey don’t care at all.
Whiskey don’t have no sympathy. -- It’ll leave me wherever I fall.
I’m my own worst enemy. -- Blaming the whiskey is a lie.
I swear I’ll never start drinkin again. -- Cross my heart and hope to die.
I’ll fall off the wagon again next week. -- But till then I’m sober and dry.
I’ll hate myself in the morning. -- Tonight I’m feelin all right.
If the room would just stop spinning. -- I could stagger through another dark night.
I’ll hate myself in the morning. -- I’m a little bit busy right now.
Insultin the hicks, and fighting off the chicks. -- I’ll get by but I don’t know how.

It’s a dusty idea and angle
they’ve done a million whiskey songs

Why don't you make fun of country music . There's been 4 million songs on whiskey , try that angle and make fun of them
Every time that damn radio plays , I hear another whiskey cliche
Same drunk lie in a different hat, pretending it’s deep
Ok there's a start

All topics have been done to death. doesn't mean you can't find a different approach or from a personal point of view. I'd like to hear this set to music.

No they have not . He asked if whiskeys songs have been done to death , they have

Pick one topic that's hasn't been done to death. In respect to his song, to me it doesn't matter as long as it's from a different point of view.

In terms of "topics that have not been done to death", I have an old song that never turned into anything that is entitled "Porcupine on a Water Bed." THAT ONE has not been done to death. 'o)

When/if I do get it set to music I'll let you know Bill.

There is so many Bill , it would take me 4 months of research . He asked a question I answered . Ok I'll lie I've never heard a whiskey song on radio0

I actually like this song -
One angle would be to title it "The Last Whiskey Song"
Maybe the final verse is something like
I can go on and on all about how the world has done me wrong
So I'm gonna sit right down pour myself another shot while I'm singing the last whiskey song

yes, my bad for being too generic, now you're getting into shel silverstein / weird al territory :) 😂

I like the opposing views on a lot of the lines like he is arguing with his conscience. it might be cool to push that on all of them.
Whiskey don’t give a damn about me. -- Whiskey never let me down.
Whiskey don’t have no sympathy. -- i feel better with it around
or something similar.
As the wise philosopher Homer Simpson once said "To alcohol! The cause of — and solution to — all of life's problems."

I guess in the year 2024 , there was one whisky song on radio
I think 2 in 2025
Yeah they still do them0 -
I like the lyric! Sure it's been done before, but so what?
There's a rough edge to it that makes it feel real (hopefully it isn't!!).
Small suggestion: It’ll leave me wherever I fall → It’ll leave me where I fall . But of course depends on syllables / fit.
Worth pursuing!

I'm with Rainy, H... It's a good lyric, all it needs is the music to make it sail.
looking forward!

Thank you for your opinion. I appreciate the response, and might re-do this to emphasize that aspect of it.

Thank you Owen. What I find most interesting is the response that I expected, but never got. "It will depend upon the music you set it to." True of almost everything. There has never been a lyric that couldn't be ruined or rescued with the wrong or right music.

Thanks for the encouragment. Yours was as close to "Depends upon the music" as I heard.

True. Music is always vital, but the quality of the lyric itself still matters. The lyric to Don McLean's Vincent is going to go a lot further with the right music than Pat Wilson's Bop Girl.
Also "depends on the music" isn't a direct answer to "has this already been done to death?", so the way the question is worded affects the kind of responses you get.

Oh yeah. I wasn't complaining or saying that should have been an answer. Just a little surprised it wasn't. What I said about there being no lyric can't be ruined with bad music is true. Less true is that there is no lyric that can't be saved. I was flattering myself to believe that this particular lyric might be good enough to be saved by the music. 'o)

I have to say, the first thing I do is read the prompts. I could almost predict this was going to be good. Then it was. Better than I would have done I'm pretty sure. I don't do that kind of country as well.

Everybody’s up on a high horse claiming they’re the only true artists, acting like four cowboy chords and a coffeehouse set make them guardians of sacred tradition. They cry about tools like Suno as if technology killed soul, when really it just bruised their ego. You can put lyrics in a box, write a prompt, and in seconds it builds something — and that threatens people who thought the gate was locked behind them. But here’s the truth: men have been crying over women, getting drunk, and writing songs about it for billions of years. Heartbreak didn’t start with them, and it won’t end because of AI. The machine didn’t invent pain — it just exposed that pain isn’t owned by anybody.

I bet you could write a song around this line - . The machine didn’t invent pain — it just exposed that pain isn’t owned by anybody..
that's a great line :)

Probably anything out of the box works for me . let's pretend we're really in the music biz , You either sell out and give them other fairy tale on life , Or your life. Actually selling out is kinda wrong . If you can make one million dollars on a love song , its a wise choice .

If you can make a million dollars on anything short of pimping out your wife, or selling your children, it's probably worth considering. 'o)

Very true . He's 4 kids but he's singing about sex in a chevy by a river . The bridge never mentioned a torn tendon trying that
Well they bought it hook line and sinker
