Black Woman Glory
Lyrics: Tammy B
composed by: Suno
[verse1]
I give you all the glory
Your strength
Resilience
To fight another day
The unprotected, unappreciated
Says it all
Stand tall and ten toes down
Straighten your crown
[verse 2]
I hear and see you
You’re transparent
All the lane changes
The “stay on code” switches
The daily mask you wear
For the masses
Always doing mental gymnastics
[Chorus]
Black woman I give you glory
You’re Devine, the creme de la creme gon’ rise
Dry your eyes
Don’t cry
It’s gon’ be alright
As long as we got each other
It’s gon’ be alright
We all we got
But God got our back
Bet that
We gon’ be alright
[verse3]
The late-night worries
About our sons and daughters
Making it home safe
Hearing the who shot who stories today, everyday
We gotta stay prayed
The price of being Black, the Black tax we pay
[verse 4]
Exhausted even before the morning begins
Black woman you deserve the glory
If no one else sees you
Believes in you, in our mothers,
I do, This is from one black woman to another
This is our story
[Chorus]
Black woman I give you glory
You’re Devine, the creme de la creme gon’ rise
Dry your eyes
Don’t cry
It’s gon’ be alright
As long as we got each other
It’s gon’ be alright
We all we got
But God got our back
Bet that
We gon’ be alright
[ambient guitar outro]
Black woman I give you glory
You’re Devine, the creme de la creme gon’ rise
We gon’ be alright

Very powerful language, well done.
Loved how casually you dropped "everyday" into "Hearing the who shot who stories today, everyday"
I found the lyric had the most punch where it was speaking about Black women more in the abstract. The first two verses are like that and to me hit hard. When you get to the chorus and use "As long as we got each other" it felt like a perspective switch. Now it's become personal. When I first read that I thought maybe this was a husband/lover talking, but at "from one black woman to another" I think that clarifies, but it felt like another veer in the path. Personally I would stick with one perspective, but that's a matter of choice.
Good choice of music, seems like a good fit to your message, and very enjoyable to listen to.
Good song!

Thank you all for the comments. I appreciate it!
@sidshovel - Thank you!
@RainyDayMan - You are absolutely correct about everything you said, and the perspective switch was indeed intentional and personal. You caught it! :-)
@ElvisNash - Yes, I have a paid subscription. I'm glad you told me, though because I didn't read the 'fine' print. Thank you!
