Where I come from legend has it that cats have 9 lives..something to do with witchcraft I believe. However in France and other parts of Europe they apparently only have 7 lives! I have no idea why that should be, but there has to be a song in there somwhere:

"But cats lose two lives when they go to France" what a wonderful line!

This is so much fun. What an enterprising feline! I'd heard of the 7 lives thing in France, but never thought of making a song from it :)

A possible change might be:

You cruised on the Seine and you drank fine wine and did everything like a French feline

I know that loses the rhyme with "should", but the prev line already rhymes internally.

In any case it's wonderful as is. Enjoyed it thoroughly.

Thanks RDM. I had a lot of fun writing and recording this one. I like your suggestion. I'll probably leave the recording as it is, but if I take the song to our live band, I may try your idea. 😀

I am a big fan of the fun song and this is a great example of one. Couple an interesing story 9 v 7 cats lives with a great soundtrack and you have the perfect catharsis for these times. Many critics disparage the fun song, yet I believe they are much more difficult to write than the bog standard love song! So well done Chris, novel and very enjoyable.

Thanks Sid. Yeah, a fun song indeed, but I tried to inject a bit of real rock n roll vibe. I'm hoping that the band I play for now and then will take this one on board and we can do a cracking live version. Failing that, I enjoyed creating this. It will probably end up on my 5th album which I hope to complete some time next year. Thanks for checking it out.😀

Good one Chris, yes a lot of fun ! . . . especially in the lyric and up tempo rock vibe. (Not to mention the crazy cat picture on your SC channel, must be photoshopped, as a real cat would never wear such an outfit:)

For the live version you should add some cat howls and meows during the drum fills.
