Cowboy Chords

Words and Music written and performed by Chris Price ©2022

Delanie Velasco she stole my heart

The girl that I dreamed of right from the start

No way to charm her she’s out my of reach

I needed some magic, some rock n roll speak

I don’t sing like David Ruffin but I’m still treadin’ the boards

I ain’t got a 335 cos this is all that I can afford

But I got soul n I got me some rhythm and I’ll give it to ya baby

With three cowboy chords

Diablo he teach me A D n G

Overnight somethin’ happened to me

I got me some mojo n started to strut

One leather hat, Delanie’s on the bus

I don’t sing like Otis Reading but I’m still treadin’ the boards

I ain’t got a 335 cos this is all that I can afford

But I got soul n I got me some rhythm and I’ll give it to ya baby…

Delanie wrapped her arms around me then she say

Take me on a plane to a beach in St Tropez

Champagne and oysters were the order of the day

Lovin’ her is all I need n she let me have my way

I can’t play like BB King but I’m still treadin’ the boards

I ain’t got a 335 cos this is all that I can afford

But I got soul n I got me some rhythm and I’ll give it to ya baby

With three cowboy chords

  • Great song Chris! I've yet to hear one of yours that I don't like.

Really enjoyed that change up at the Bridge.

    Good stuff :)

  • Thanks RDM. I really enjoyed recording this one. Love the new site. 😀

  • Love it, Chris. The hook is awesome, and the melody has a fun feel. I never get tired of hearing your music. Keep 'em coming :)

Thanks so much Andrea. Hope you are keeping well. I appreciate your kind words as always. Hey, I really like the look of this new forum. It's very early days I know, but hopefully everyone will be back on board soon. Maybe some new faces too.😀

  • Hi Chris,

Great to be in this new place with you!

We have some Joe Walsh in this tune, and I am digging it.

Love the guitar solo, and I think you do not be like BBKing, because you are Chris Price, and I love your playing!!!

    Superb recording.

    Respectfully,

    Rene

  • Hola @ChrisPrice

Glad to be here!! I re-listened to your song and I re-liked it, That cowboy is as authentic as the rock flavor that you know how to give it.

    See you!!

  • Glad you found your way here! And thanks as always for your kind words. I'll be posting something new very soon but I wanted to see how things work here.

  • Another gritty rocker. Good stuff, Chris.

    Love your writing and playing!!

  • Another excellent rock track, Chris! Clever, catchy lyrics, crystal clear production, excellent guitar work, and great vocals! Awesome song! I agree with Owen's comment about enjoying the change-up during the bridge/middle. This song would have fit in perfectly on AOR radio stations in the 70s/80s. 😀

    Cheers,

    Joseph

  • Chris,

Great song, Chris. It's got grit. Love the production. Gives me a Ronnie Wood vibe. At times the production almost went into a Steve Miller zone

  • Ha Ha Ha 3 cowboy chords , great angle Chris

    Real good production man

    Good job on this !!

  • It's a Friday night outside the Honkey-Tonk

I'm making my way through the pickup trucks

Chris Price is banging out Cowboy Chords

The place is rockin' now that's worth 10 bucks

  • Wow, love this Chris! Love the groove, the instrumental, the structure and how you pulled it all together, and it was fun.

Love the groove and hook on this rockin’ jam! I like the attitude. Great production!  Great job Chris!

  • Always a pleasure listening to your songs, Chris! In your signature style, this is upbeat and optimistic, which I really appreciate. I like the French Riviera references and the message that you can do a lot with simplicity. Kudos to you!
