Forgive me if I have this wrong, but I'm assuming that the 17k is what it cost you in studio time and maybe the other musicians. In the great scheme of things, 17k is nothing compared to the budgets of major artists. With this in mind, I think that the studio you use and your producer have really done you proud. Your songs, recordings and production are absolutely excellent.
17k, in your currency or mine, is money that I simply don't have spare. Even if I did, I'm not sure that I could justify that kind of outlay, unless it was going to lead to airplay and at least some degree of success. In my case I just don't see that happening. If I can get a hundred or two listens on Soundcloud and a few more via my album pages, then I reckon I'm doing well. It doesn't make me any money, but I'm not out of pocket either. It's why I choose to work at home on my own. Like you, I give my albums away - digital download only in my case..
Yes, 7 bucks for your album is more than generous. I happen to think you deserve to be successful but, hey, what do I know?!!😀

Sadly people are used to not paying for music., 3 years of recording costs, 20 years of learning the craft . no vacations in 9 years. I guess I'm more like Tesla than George Westinghouse , Tesla was lousy in business... but he did enlighten the world .
