Songs from a broken heart
Lyrics mine, music and vocals are Ai generated
There is a bit of the outro missing, still figuring out the Ai, not technically minded!
verse 1
Did you really care, what would become of me?
Dumped me for the pack, did they set you free?
Why? For years, our dreams were enough for us.
To throw it all away, all those plans, all that trust.
verse 2
Shared our hopes, and futures tied together.
Played and planned our lives as one forever.
Can't believe you didn't care, what became of me.
All alone, you'd have known, just what that would be.
chorus
Just me and my guitar, in my room and it's dark.
Tears on an empty notepad since we've been apart
Another lonely cliche
Singin' songs from a broken heart
bridge
I need to cure the heartache, if I'm ever to move on
Bury those emotions, stop me being what I've become
Just me and my guitar, and a broken heart
chorus
Just me and my guitar, in my room and it's dark.
Tears on an empty notepad since we've been apart
Another lonely cliche
Singin' songs from a broken heart
outro
Those songs from a broken heart
Those songs from a broken heart
Those songs from a broken heart

That's a lovely lyric. Real country broken hearted song.
"songs from a broken heart" is a great hook and title.
The AI music isn't bad. It's not a perfect match, but it didn't do a bad job either. And I think everyone is still learning how to use these new tools. The vocal seems to come out particularly well.
Nice song!

"The AI music isn't bad. It's not a perfect match, but it didn't do a bad job either."
You know, these two sentences accurately define where we are with Ai today.
For non-musicians such as myself and others, it offers another dimension with which to judge the merits of the lyrics.
And for those who know the difference between reverb and reflux, the differences are noticeable and at the moment do not represent some existential challenge to their skills.
Time will tell.

If he didn't mention it was AI , I would have never thought it
This is a real good song man , To short though , I'd write a v3
VVCVCBC
Nice job on this man

Thank you,
Yes, I agree. It was only when I played it back did I realise it would have benefited from another c/v.
In all honesty, when I wrote it, I played it much slower in my head. It didn't seem so short then, and it wasn't in a country tempo.
The Ai chose the country feel for the lyrics and I have to say it was a good choice IMO. Better than what was in my head, mine was more Jimmy Lafave or Eric Andersen, turned out more Lucinda Williams, but she's good, so I didn't mind.
Thanks for your comments Elvis appreciated.

Radio hits are from 2:50 to 3:50 , of course some hit 4. This is worth pursing

Sorry Elvis, I don't know what this means, is it something to do with timing?

This sums up all my concerns about AI generated music. The arrangement is okay but it's working to an algorithm..the formula is there or there or thereabouts, but the only soul is in your lyrics which are great. AI will get better for sure, but, as a musician, this is the side of of it that I really don't like. AI tools - yes, bring them on but, please, not to write and perform the music. Sorry, but this doesn't work for me at all. I can see why non-musicians might want to give it a punt..but it goes against all the reasons that I learned to play my instruments and write real music. Just my humble opinion of course.π

Thanks Chris,
All the points you make are valid, and you will certainly get no arguments from me.
I admit to having minimum knowledge of Ai and zero when it comes to music.
My inclination is that the use of Ai within the music industry should be confined solely to that of a tool.
By that I mean, Ai should be used solely to stimulate creativity rather than replace it.
All Ai generated works whether audio, video or written should be "watermarked" to control their end use.
Media companies should agree not to use "watermarked" components in their final products.
Having said all that, speaking as a non-musician or singer, I welcome the ability to hear my lyrics put to music and sung since I can't do either. I personally would not be denying a musician revenue since I simply cannot afford to pay for someone to record each song I write. In the past Chris you have kindly put a couple of my songs to music. They were fantastic and a joy to hear but it would be totally wrong to expect this kind gesture on a regular basis.
I have no intention ever to use or endorse any of my work that has any Ai components within it to be used for commercial reasons. (I wish)
In summary, Ai is here to stay, confine its use as a tool and control its output.

Really nice Lyrics Sid. I would agree that AI going country was the right direction, but I'm not loving AI beyond maybe inspiration to spark your own creativity. I totally get the attraction. As inspiration, we all get inspired by outside sources, so I think in that vein it's totally legit. Great job Sid!

I bet AI will become a genre in itself . Not sure what they will call it . money being made by the best AI songs by majors
robot art or something . I don't think professional songwriters take it personally . Its what's going to make them money , If AI is the future.... then jump on the train or get left behind

professional music publishers don't get real excited on songs either , unless they see $$$ , AI or not. they spend time on monthly spread sheets , is this song paying the bills ? like Home Depot , is this board selling or not ?

Back to your song , V1 sets up he left , I would take v2 in a new direction . something new to say . Maybe about finding someone new with some twist , We already know about this guy and in v1 , move story along . Right now v2 is saying the same thing as v1 ,
good luck

Hi Elvis,
Took your previous advice, added extra c/v and added one more line to the bridge, rounds it off a bit better than before.
run time 2:53. Sounds more complete now, thank you for your invaluable help.

Excellent song Sid. Outstanding lyrics. AI is scary good. I have several lyrics Rob Baitinger used AiI on the vocals. Theyβre all good too.0

Thanks Carroll.
Appreciate your comments.
"Scary Good", succinctly captures the essence of the Ai issue, love it!
Sid
P.S. I will continue to use Ai vocals and music and post them only if I think the lyrics are enhanced by its inclusion.
Any musician on this forum is more than welcome to use any of my lyrics and add their own rendering as they wish.
Thanks
Sid

AI will almost ceratinly become a genre. But I'm not getting on that train. If that means I get left behind then so be it. Can you imagine going to a gig and watching a machine and some holograms? It will happen, but I want no part of it. I will use AI tools as I see fit, but not to write my songs. I don't need to do that.π

This debate reminds me of another technological advance that impacted my family years ago.
My father was a crane driver on Liverpool docks, his wages were the family's only source of income.
With the introduction of containerisation, the dockworkers were assured any impact would be minimal.
Two years later, 10,000 dockers had lost their jobs. What was once one of the biggest ports in the world became a ghost town.
Ai will impact a whole swathe of professionals, musicians, writers, artists, etc.
The quicker those impacted by Ai act to control its output, the better the chance of protecting their work and skills.
Capitalism is about $$$$, not people.
Ai is a tool not an output!!!

Well put Sid. A good comparison. I'm not sure that there's any way of controlling how AI impacts musicians other than to use it as we see fit and steer clear of the bits we don't like. I don't make music for a living these days so it won't really affect me, but I can imagine some pro musicians being somewhat concerned. So said, I admire you for giving AI a try. The result is amazing and it will only get better.
I've gone off topic really haven't I ?! Your lyrics here are great. You are a talented lyric writer for sure.π

Hi Chris,
I'm like you, not impacted by the rise of the Ai's. Songwriting is no more than a hobby to me.
Sadly, I've seen too many occasions were people have lost their jobs due to something or someone doing it cheaper.
This is a classic situation, ripe for exploitation and my heart goes out to the pro and aspiring musicians.
I hope they organise themselves to nip it in the bud before it is too late.
I say these things not from the perspective of a Luddite or Unionist, but of a senior manager in a number of FTSE 100 corporations.
I wish them well.

Good man Sid , Now your radio time
AI is used every time some one with a home studio buys a app to play drum machines guitar parts ect ect ect .
So this is evolving . For hobbyists i see no big deal . I personally like using session players . You know the Beatles were using AI in the 60 ties or 70ties , (memory loss what ever era it was) on Peppers album , along with drugs , but that's a different subject

Thanks Elvis,
I do take your point about DAWS and other apps. My beef is about total substitutes for lyrics, music or vocals.
For instance someone jumps on SUNO, generates random lyrics, music and vocals and then competes with pro musicians and songwriters for income. Considering what an absolute idiot I am with these things, I managed to output something half decent. Yet, the effort was minimal and derisory compared to what is done in real life music production. I just see too many dark clouds if it is not controlled and musicians livelihoods are not protected.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not against Ai per se, there will be wonderous benefits in the future from it.
I'm just against people losing their livelihood because of it.

I don't use AI to write songs , Why did I pick up a guitar ? . That's a good question really , I don't know .
Yes AI is and will replace humans , To what degree I don't know . the Model T replaced a horse

Thanks Elvis,
I have two sons, one's an animator for feature films and the other is a film maker.
I worry for them and their kids, I hope were both wrong.
Thanks for your thoughts Elvis, appreciated.

I'd rather write songs , then waste my time on Net Flix on the OJ Simpson story . I can't catch a fish in this lake , i've been trying for 3 days since I moved here . So I told my wife were moving , its a one horse town in the boonies . I saw a hitchhiker yesterday , so there's hope for mankind . Back to AI , Roger Millers boss told all his staff writers to follow him around , cuz everything he said was interesting and a song idea , AI will never replace that
