Love never dies

Love never dies
verse1
In the dim light of the attic
sits a box forgotten.
with feelings I couldn’t confront.
the loss of my best friend.
pre chorus
Tears well up in my eyes
as I go thru her things.
It’s twisted but I still smile.
at the feelings it brings.
chorus
because love, love never dies.
verse2
Her loss had buried my feelings.
hid them out of my sight.
but the dreams they haunted my mind.
because love never dies.
chorus
because love, love never dies.
verse3
I still think about her kisses.
I still see her blue eyes.
I still feel her arms around me
love, yes love never dies.
pre chorus
Tears well up in my eyes.
as I look at her ring.
It’s hurts me but I still smile.
At the feelings it brings.
bridge
She’s no longer with me
but she’s still alive.
love, love, love never dies.

    Hi Carroll,

Enjoyed the song very much, sensed the feelings coming through the words.

Constructive commentary: I feel the chorus may benefit from being longer.

At the risk of seeming presumptuous, rereading it, I kept seeing something like

    chorus

Love stays, to answer the whys

Because it's love, and love it never dies.

I know you take these suggestions in the spirit in which they are given.

    Keep posting, love your work.

  • I think a simple repeat on the chorus might work too. I hear that as a real wail; someone pouring emotion into it. Quite possibly with some musical pause or turnaround afterwards before returning to the verse to give time to calm down.

I like this one a lot. I like the start how it sets the scene in the attic where the box contains feelings.

Then it gradually unfolds from best friend, to her, to wedding ring so we find out who its about.

    Nicely done!

  • This is a very good set of lyrics about a subject many can relate to. Well done!

    Cheers,

    Joseph
