I like this overall. I think the opening is great and really sets up the whole song.

Chorus is good. You might consider varying line 3 slightly rather than a straight repeat: "It's not where you're going..." or something like that.

I think the pre-chorus works well for this song, but I have trouble with these lines:

when the key to happiness

is a drink and a massage.

I'm guessing that's limited by what rhymes with "mirage" but maybe there's some near rhymes available?

Should work well in a modern country style.
