Try A Little Harder
This is "Try A Little Harder," Track 3 of my new album "Dark, Beautiful World."
Try A Little Harder
Verse 1 (Acoustic guitar, acoustic bass and mandolin)
Slammed doors, yelling so loud it wakes the neighbors
All the fightin’ is too much, and they wonder
If it's worth all the pain that a broken heart could bring
She thinks he isn't want she wanted
He thinks he might as well start runnin'
They gotta figure it out, make it work
Before they lose everything
Chorus (Add electric guitar, soulful slide guitar and drums)
You gotta try a little harder ‘Cuz love is worth fighting for,
Not throwing it away
Reignite the fire
Try a little harder
Verse 2:
They could just move on and forget about it
But they’ll have to deal with all the sounds of
Cryin’ loud in the night, askin’ themselves, “Why?
“Why didn’t I just forgive and forget? Now my heart’s dead”
Chorus:
Bridge:
All the fightin’ and the hurtin'
It’s not worth it
All the blamin’ and yellin’
It’s not worth it
It’s not worth it...
Chorus:
Outro:
Try a little harder…
(music fades)

Forgive me, but I want to hear the finished article at this stage. I'm not so good at reviewing lyrics alone so I'll check out the album.😀

The structure of this one is unusual with (as written) 7 lines in v1 and 4 in v2. That doesn't make it wrong, just unusual. The music is going to have to be different as it isn't even a direct repeat (ie 8 lines would be just twice as long and you could repeat the riff twice).
I think you've got the mood and the story down pat. Just a bit more work to do setting it to music.
