something on your mind lyrics

verse 1

I've never been so happy, to see the rain

It's been a week, since you last came in

I never thought, that I'd see you again

Don't know what to say, or how to begin

verse 2

You've been staring out the window for an hour

Coffee's cold, your hands still wrapped around the cup

You're staring into a world beyond these shores

Here, and yet, you haven't woken up

chorus

Whatever or whoever broke your heart

That something that treated you unkind

If you let me in I'll take the pain away

Let me be that something on your mind

Instrumental

verse 3

Your reflection in the glass, showed the tear

You caught it with the napkin, wiped it all away

Reflections in your mind, those were getting near

Not so easily wiped away, they were here to stay

chorus

Whatever or whoever broke your heart

That something that treated you unkind

If you let me in I'll take the pain away

Let me be that something on your mind

bridge

Some memories are etched deep within our brains

You can try your best to forget, but a little still remains

chorus

Whatever or whoever broke your heart

That something that treated you unkind

If you let me in I'll take the pain away

Let me be that something on your mind

  • Very smooth Sid, no crits from me.

Really like 'Let me be that something on your mind"

    Make a great country song.

  • Kudos Sid! I had the same reaction as RDM. The “Let me be that something on your mind “ really stuck with me too. Such a great tag line. The entire piece is very thoughtful and paints a nice picture, but the chorus really brings it together. Nice job!
