Your Winter Eyes
This is a ballad I'm working on for my fictional horror novel. It's a song about the futility of falling in love with the beautiful sorceress, Hedra. I'll record a demo for it soon.
Your Winter Eyes Words and Music: Joseph Spain Produced by: Joseph Spain © 2024 Joseph Spain song from the forthcoming horror novel "Omega's Dark: The Transference" --Verse 1 Lost in the winter's silence of autumn Your heart can see what's under the snow Hope lies asleep beneathe every white drift Your winter eyes still see what can grow --Chorus So far and so close So blind and so clear The voices we know are always so near As each of us pines for the one we hold dear Love waits lonely beneath the grace of your snow While your winter is here --Verse 2 Hope in your heart remembers the summer Do your thoughts retrace what's under the snow Love lies asleep but promised to waken Your winter eyes remember and know (repeat chorus) --Bridge Try to recall everything every moment, each word that you whispered to me I live for the hour, the minute, the second, the moment your heart melts for me (repeat chorus through fade out)

Magical Joseph, It has a mystical quality about the song, tends to draw you in like a Siren's lament.
Looking forward to hearing these poetic words put to music, keep hearing those Enya type songs each time I read the lyrics

Thank you for your review and kind words, Sid. Yes, I would love to hear either Enya or Emmy Rossum sing the song, especially with the great voice Emmy showcased in Phantom of the Opera. Canada is home to an Enya-like songstress named Marcomé. Each of these three ladies is beautiful and sings with the voice of an angel.
Cheers,
Joseph
