Another Blonde Lyrics

& you see
It was never you
It was never me
What went wrong
Blame it on
A stupid song
Oh dumb blonde
You're such a stupid song
Yeah you're competition is wrong
Blame it on
A stupid song
I'll write all the words
Black and white on the lines
I said it before I said it again
Why the interference all the time
Oh stupid song
Oh dumb blonde
You're such a stupid song
Yeah you're competition is wrong
Blame it on
A love so strong
Blame it on
Another blonde

This one strikes me not so much as a linear story, but rather as a collection of phrases that collectively tells the story.
It's another one that seems well suited to a pop style. I'd like to hear it set to music.

As RDM says, a collection of phrases. To be honest I'm not picking up much of a story as it is, but it would indeed be interesting to hear this with music. I can imagine it with just an acoustic guitar or some kind of sparse arrangement. I think the words could perhaps be elaborated on as part of the process.😀

I was a little behind in reviewing songs after the outage last month. I just read through this one. I really like what you're written, Kayla! The lines I find the most intriguing are:
I'll write all the words Black and white on the lines I said it before I said it again Why the interference all the time
Like your most recent set of lyrics that you posted earlier, I can also pick up on the meter of this one and imagine a supporting set of chords and a melody. I can envision Joan Jett or Pat Benatar singing lyrics like these in the 80s. I also like the way you sometimes leave "blame it on..." open-ended and subject to the listener's imagination. Some folks need concrete, literal lyrics with specific meanings that tell a full story, whereas others appreciate abstractness, uncertain meanings, and the use of double entendres. I appreciate both styles and enjoyed your style here! I hope we can hear this one set to music! Nice work! 😀
Cheers,
Joseph
