New Song - Never Let Go

Hey y'all! I have been writing since I was really young, and I kinda fell out of it as I got busy in college. Now that I'm in the workforce, I've fallen back in love with songwriting. Here's a new one I just wrote. Go easy on me - I've been out of practice a few years.
This is called "Never Let Go," it's a country song. I'm a female, but I wrote it as if it were sung from a male perspective. Please let me know what you think!
V1
It was Mid-June in Alabama, spent the weekend with my grandpa
I needed to get the hell out of Tennessee
Spent all day out fishing, spent our nights in drinking
Just a screened in porch, Grandpa and me
Pre-Chorus
He poured another beer into his solo cup
Said this is everything I know about love
Chorus
Find a girl who keeps you calm, find a girl who cheers you on
And pray to God your children get her looks
Never stay too late at work, give her more than she deserves
Tell everyone you fell with just one look
When you find her boy you’ll know, it’s the kind of love where you never let go
V2
When those southern storms rolled in, we just grabbed another drink
It was half past 3 but we didn’t care
He met my grandma at 19, she was his everything
If it weren’t for her, well I wouldn’t be here
Pre-Chorus
He said boy I know you’re sick and tired of searching
But believe me when it’s real it’s worth it
Chorus
Find a girl who keeps you calm, find a girl who cheers you on
And pray to God your children get her looks
Never stay too late at work, give her more than she deserves
Tell everyone you fell with just one look
When you find her boy you’ll know, it’s the kind of love where you never let go
Bridge
Life gets hard and things get rough
You can get through anything with a whole lotta love
Chorus
Find a girl who keeps you calm, find a girl who cheers you on
And pray to God your children get her looks
Never stay too late at work, give her more than she deserves
Tell everyone you fell with just one look
When you find her boy you’ll know, it’s the kind of love where you never let go
Never let go

Nice! The chorus is the highlight (as it should be!) and I love : "And pray to God your children get her looks" - that made me snort - but "Find a girl who keeps you calm, find a girl who cheers you on" is another great line.
There's a couple of spots where you might end up adjusting the number of syllables. eg:
It was Mid-June in Alabama, → Mid June in Alabama
but honestly those can be sorted out as it's set to music.
Got a good feel to it! 😁

Posting a song — The Songwriters Forum
A gentle reminder to read the forum guidelines on song posting. I'm sure you planned on following them but it's worth mentioning.
I always find lyrical feedback difficult to give as to my mind anything can sound good with the right music and delivery. For example I've intentionally written poor lyrics before (moreso than usual) so I can sing them 'ironically'.
On the face of it your lyrics are good, they have a certain flow and with the right music and vocal I can see them sparking and coming to life. Some lines could be awkward to fit music to but I guess it depends on the music and singer. A tweak here and there is often required when transitioning to music. Do you have music in mind or are you hoping to hook up with someone to flesh it out?
Cheers
