The Beckoning Breeze
Disclaimer: The lyrics to this song are written by me, and the music is by Suno.
Introducing a new artist in my catalogue, meet the Susie Almeida Septet, a group which recorded some cool Bossa Nova tunes in the 1960s. Learn more about the group in the fluff section below. As always, everything in that section is completely made up by me.

[verse 1]
I feel the beckoning breeze
Rustling the leaves as we walk by
It seems to whisper awfully low
Let’s take it slow, dear, don’t be shy
[verse 2]
Our troubles won’t reach us here
They’ll disappear with gentle ease
Then darling, our lips will entwine
In the divine, beckoning breeze
[bridge]
We’ll be alone, no telephone
Your heart beating in time with my own
Sweet as can be, for you and me
A tender wind will guide us faithfully
[verse 3]
It carries my devoted vow
Hear it now, caress the trees
It says that all I long to do
Is be with you, in the beckoning breeze
[instrumental]
[bridge]
We’ll be alone, no telephone
Your heart beating in time with my own
Sweet as can be, for you and me
A tender wind will guide us faithfully
[verse 3]
It carries my devoted vow
Hear it now, caress the trees
It says that all I long to do
Is be with you, in the beckoning breeze
[instrumental outro]

Recording date: June 17th, 1962
Track / band info: With the Bossa craze in full swing in the early 1960s, record labels were looking for anyone who could play and sing the cool, Latin-flavored rhythms. 19-year old Susie Almeida, a rare Brazilian-American in those days, had been performing in small clubs on the west coast with a group of recent Brazilian immigrants that were in search of a singer. Capitol executives were impressed enough with the group to offer them a recording contract, and for their first LP, the band simply played part of their normal set, 12 songs that had won over local audiences and would now be introduced to the rest of the country. The title track, “The Beckoning Breeze” was a fan favorite on the stage and exemplified the group’s sultry groove.
The group:
Vocal: Susie Almeida
Saxophone: Gil Rodriguez

Susie Almeida has a wonderful voice! And this is lovely. The whole Septet does a great job.
I like those internal rhymes in the verses. So smooth and rewarding to the ear.
Lovely stuff.
