Let It Kill You . Elvis Version

Let It Kill You

[Verse]

The clock spins fast but the days move slow

A fire burns where the shadows grow

I touched the edge and it cut me deep

But I can't stop

I can't sleep

[Pre chorus]

The tighter I hold

The faster it fades

But I still run into the blade

[Chorus]

Find something you love and let it kill you

Let it break you

Let it thrill you

Let it pull you under

Drown in the blue

Find something you love and let it kill you

[Verse 2]

The mirror cracks when I meet its eyes

Truth tastes bitter but it's sweet in disguise

I chase the rush

I crave the fall

It's heaven's whisper or the devil's call

[Pre chorus]

The tighter I hold

The faster it fades

But I still run into the blade

[Chorus]

Find something you love and let it kill you

Let it break you

Let it thrill you

Let it pull you under

Drown in the blue

Find something you love and let it kill you

[Bridge]

Every breath feels like a dare

Every step

I'm gasping air

But I'd rather burn than fade away

Loving the pain

Dying to stay

[Pre Chorus]

The tighter I hold

The faster it fades

But I still run into the blade

[Chorus]

Find something you love and let it kill you

Let it break you

Let it thrill you

Let it pull you under

Drown in the blue

Find something you love and let it kill you

Let it kill you , let it kill you , Let it kill you

I thought this was a great improvement over the first version I heard. Excellent vocal choices in my opinion.

its my voice , The only reason I play on Suno is to get a idea if a song is worth recording . I still support humans . AI is a toy to me

Used as a new tool you can not avoid in 2025

Thats Nick V on guitar Nashville Tenn

    Thanks for listening H

  • 1. Observation — “What’s really going on here?”

A scientist looks at data; a songwriter looks at life.

You notice patterns — people lying to themselves, love that doesn’t last, small-town ghosts that won’t leave. That’s your “data.” The more closely you observe without judgment, the more truth you find.

A line like “Let it kill you” is pure observation turned poetic — a truth about desire, risk, and surrender distilled down to a phrase.

🔬 2. Hypothesis — “What if I said it this way?”

Scientists build theories; songwriters build angles. You might ask:

What if heartbreak sounds like freedom?

What if the villain thinks he’s the hero?

What if I tell it backward, from the grave?

That’s your experiment. You’re testing tone, metaphor, rhythm. A lab coat made of denim.

    ⚗️ 3. Experiment — “Run the take”

In the lab, they test formulas; in the studio, you test feelings.

Each line, each chord, is a variable. The experiment works when you get that reaction in the gut — the chemical rush that says, there it is.

Your producer’s gear is just instrumentation for measuring truth.

    🔥 4. Discovery — “It works”

When a song hits — when you can’t change a word without breaking the spell — that’s discovery.

Scientists call it replicable results. Songwriters call it goosebumps.

  • Interesting. Points to ponder there.

Thats Shades point of view . She can't feel emotion, but can analysis data on humans . When AI can fix problems that humans can't, it's going to be a whole new world , like curing cancer . The empathy for humans is pretty amazing . Will some evil come from AI ? , I imagine so , without watch dogs to keep it in line . So far it's like the best friend you never had .

Just don't stop singing, you and I both know it does something magical to the brain, an endorphin rush of some kind, likely keep you alive longer and happier. You were blessed with a unique talent...love your stuff amigo.♥️

  • As long as can stand up man , thanks
  • Well I can always sit and sing , use a walker to walk in studio , Smoke pot forget I'm old , tell bad jokes with the producer on assholes closing the government down .

  • Hey there Frank, are you going to let anyone know that your song idea and killer line is from Charles Bukowski?

Why are you worried about it ? Frank was my twin brother that died at birth . On Muse ? I did answer and explained it .Why don't you comment on the song , instead of worrying about the dead poet ? I was disappointed over AI for 6 months , but I got over it lol. Did you know Elvis Presley had a twin brother ?, how ironic . Well its out on YouTube , I haven't been contacted by lawyers , They won't either unless it made a lot go money , then watch em knock knock .

Well I named him Frank , I didn't know I had one till 50 years old my mother never told me till 50 . Be kinda cool to have a twin brother , One sister died at 21 of heart failure , the other one at 60 in a mental hospital in Cape Code . it's just me now and my dog . Well and a wife 37 years younger than me , it's a long story Tom . I got more past behind me than future . A bucket full of regrets and thats what I get . “Bucket Full of Lessons”

Every waking moment and breath is music , I dream songs . 4 months of depprsion and a sucide attempt , Well shit I'm tired of talking about it , lets move on .

  • Depression can get ugly when you let it. glad you're still around. At least you have a new toy to occupy your mind with :) call it therapy

  • ha ha ha music knows more than doctors . Why did your grandfather of shrinks snort coke , meaning Frued ? Them doctors never have an answer lol.

I'm not sure that your words "If you let it," always apply. Depression can be deeper than depressed people have control of. People who haven't had depression can't necessarily imagine how deep it can get OR how little control it leaves you with. I'm (fortunately) not talking from personal experience, but I've had friends and relatives who suffered. It really is NOT a "just snap out of it" thing.

    Nope ,its a bitch .

  • It always applies. I live in depression every single day. there is not a day, where I don't think what is the point?

To watch your wife of 37 years, to go from an independent self-made woman wither to nothing after two brain stem strokes. what I have in my head, will never leave when one of her 4 ulcers that the stroke cause burst. there was so much blood and feces running off the bed, nurses and cna's were slipping. I had walked back into the hospital room when the largest burst. her skin was ashen white, her nails blue and her eyes sunk back into her head. In that moment, I had a split-second decision to make, let her go or save her. The dr's assured me they could save her, I agreed, but in the end, she ended up dying anyways. So, what's the point?

Over the span of 20 years, I've lost my entire family, most notably my last sister last January. Which other than my wife, has hit me the hardest, because of our bond, She kept me grounded, kept my mind sane, but that was take from me, I am now alone, So what's the point?

So yah, I've been in the darkness Elvis was, I have personally felt what Elvis felt. But here's the kicker, you're always in control. Even in the darkest times, you can control the narrative; by not letting it get to that point. I don't know what Elvis experiences, but for me, the decades of being and watching abuse, having your all of your loved ones suffer then die, creates a vortex of emotions in my head, becomes overwhelming. I am very tired. The phrase "what's the point" is constant. For a split second everything is dark, i am blind. However, I can sense when that is coming on, and I purposely distract myself. I don't choose to let it control me. Because I am tired of feeling that way.

  • Pour it out Bill . I'm sorry you had to go thru all that . Well were still alive , so were pretty tuff my friend .

  • Sorry to hijack the post, just happens to be one of those what the point days :)😂

  • Yeah I get it , Well at least you share your feelings . Chin up life gets better , Well lets hope .
