I want to, but I'm not sure!
Hi, this post is aimed at those who are relatively new to songwriting and those wondering should they give it a go.
About 18 months ago, Feb 2024, I submitted my first song onto TSF. Up to that point I'd written about 6 songs in my entire life, all at the age of 71. Back then, Ai as we know it now, was only a twinkling star on the horizon, so the song was lyrics only.
Since then I have posted nearly 200 songs on the forum, some good, some bad, some ugly, that's for you to decide.
All this was made possible by some fantastic contributors to this forum who gave their time and experience to help guide me in goal to write some decent songs. To those thinking of taking that first step themselves, my advice is dive in and submit anything just to get a feel, you'll be glad you did. Who knows, in 18 months time you could be writing a post having written 300 songs!

This post is actually about encouraging people to join the forum and post their offerings, irrespective of their experience in songwriting. The site has a very good resource category to assist members who wish to learn or improve their writing skills.

Yes, indeed! The more life experience you have, the more you can put into your songs!
There is no age limit here. And you can be as anonymous (or not) as you choose to be.
And if you're not sure how good your songs are, then a site like this one is ideal! You can get a reaction, feedback and constructive suggestions from other songwriters like yourself.
There really is no reason not to give it a go.
