What if
Words Me; Music - Suno

[Intro]
What if, what is, isn't
[Verse 1]
Close your eyes and drift away
To a time where there was a day
When the skies starved of stars
And galaxies, so very bizarre
While you dangle in nothingness
Absent of percept of consciousness
[Verse 2]
Then suddenly you open your eyes,
To witness matter screaming by
Prismatic colors from the dark
Whatever fuse that lit that spark,
Excites every neutron and proton
From data encoded through photons
[Verse 3]
Your mind is now constantly decoding
Universal data that keeps loading,
Constructing, defining your reality
Filtering out what you shouldn't see
You are aware, but not really aware
But does it matter, do you truly care
[Bridge]
The world your mind built, is complete
There are rules, so, please have a seat
Virtually of course, that was metaphorical
None of this, is, it's all hypothetical
The conscious self is merely an illusion
Fabrications of falsities and delusions
[Verse 4]
You are the actor in life's screenplay
Not the director, but that's really ok
You exist, and that's all that matters
Knowing true reality will ever shatter
Your concept of what is consciousness
And questions your self-awareness
[Outro]
So, close your eyes and succumb to sleep
And when you are at the slumber deep
The mind busies itself with screening
Memories, fragmented, always cleaning
Then writing the script for the next day
Are we really in control, who's to say

What if I didn't just read a wonderful piece of writing or Heisenberg was sure that everything I read was true.
That Dark Matter doesn't really matter in the great scheme of Rhymes and Reason!
To blend this theory and watch it coalesce into an Ai generated piece of song and music defined by that demagogue and high priest of musical genesis, known and feared by the masses as Sunooooooooooooooooo.
Killer Bill.

Suno has given a beautiful performance, that's the truth. The lyrics make me think, once again, that no matter how much we learn or discover, we're missing a piece, a very important piece that, if we had it, would surely leave us engulfed in the horror of knowing the truth about why. @bhengen

Thanks Sid.. I know, it's wonderful that you can tell suno, here take this and make something of it and it does. 😀.

Thanks mora, I really appreciate it. I know the more research I do for a project I'm working on, In the back of my head there is a saying from the TV show Fringe - You don't even know what you don't know, which is a paraphrase of either Socrates or Cusa. Maybe we don't really want to know :)

You always show me how far a lyric can be pushed out of "typical" zones and still sound like a song.
But I didn't find listening to this as rewarding as reading the lyric. It's an interesting topic and worth exploring. But it lacked the musical hooks and emotional strings that I personally enjoy in a song. This one is also quite abstract, so less concrete visual imagery.
I didn't like the ping-pong style panning going on in the intro, found that a bit hard on the ears.
"Absent of percept of consciousness" that's a difficult line to decipher quickly and took me out of the song whilst I did so.
Not sure this is the best medium to explore your ideas here.

Thanks for the comment. I agree and disagree with you on that line, but it was intentional. I want to you to stop for a moment and think about the possibilities.
In respect to the medium, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you there. In the experimental / prog rock genre, it's not always about connection on an emotional level, sometimes it's about confronting reality. Sometimes, it's about taking you out of your comfort zone. As Steve Wilson of porcupine trees, a pioneer in the prog rock genre, said - I don't write happy songs ...
What's also interesting about this song, is that it's not doing very well on Suno, most likely for the reasons you outlined, however, on Audius, it's doing much better. I've already had 5 comments, which is rare for me. And out of 32 plays it has 29 favs and 25 reposts.
i've also remixed it, let me if this version is better - https://suno.com/s/U9tfD0wedCOvffIT
Thanks for the honest opinion.

No worries Bill! You know what you are after, and I'm confident you'll stand your ground when you feel you should.

"What if, what is, isn't"
Great opening line.
I like the second better. I'd say that suno did a miraculous job with your lyric. Your lyric, IMHO, is a very complicated write, and would prove challenging to anyone with marrying a melody to it.
A very interesting piece, for sure.

Thanks for the comment tom. I agree, I like the remix better. I think with a little re-working, like revisiting that line, that Owen, mentioned, like dropping the word percept, somebody could write a melody to it. you're talented enough ;)
