Trick Me For A While

They say if you have to explain your song, then there's a problem with it .. not true btw, try explaining Stairway to Heaven or Hotel California, or hundreds of other greats
But when you're pitching, I guess there are general guidelines.
Basicly this is about wanting to believe something cause it makes you feel good, where you don't care if it's real or not.
Using a carnival or a street fair as a metaphor setting

You dont know me
you pull me from the crowd
they all laugh loud
they dont believe that you hold the power
A concrete flower
I'm not sure what I believe
I haven't looked inside your sleeve
but...
There's a magic on the street tonight, girl
Every corner there's a star shone bright
it's so tragic I can finally make a smile
work your magic
wont you trick me for a while
You're a gypsy
they pay you by the spell
the lies you tell...
my back been broke,
woman I'm weak
you kiss my cheek
[There's a magic on the street tonight, girl Every corner there's a star shone bright it's so tragic I can finally make a smile work your magic wont you trick me for a while
The wino says "good luck"
Dont need it my friend
But here's a buck
There's a magic on the street tonight, girl Every corner there's a star shone bright it's so tragic I can finally make a smile work your magic wont you trick me for a while.
Work your magic
wont you trick me for a while
Work your magic

This is cool. Like an early 70s vibe.
I was just bopping along to it. Don't need to read too much into it, just enjoy!

Thanks, I thought it sounded like the Beatles0

I loved the song; it's as fresh as a sea breeze after the heat of the day.
The arrangement is simple and natural, and the interplay of the vocals, panned left and right, is brilliant.
I don't mess with the mix; everyone has their own taste.
Do you know what your song has? Youthfulness, like the Beatles' songs had.
Great lyrics.
