NeverEnding War
Since war seems to be weighing heavily upon the world's shoulder at this moment in history, thought I'd give it some thought in the way of a song. Any feedback is welcome.

NeverEnding War
V1
Who’s calling the shots, it’s hard to tell
The United States or Israel
All I know for certain it’s the world they’re hurtin’
Another Bankster War to sell
CHORUS
Never-ending war
Never-ending war
Since I can remember, January through December
Never-ending war
V2
Cain slewed Abel, everybody knows
Jacob over Esau, way it goes
One thing is for certain, who’s behind the curtain
Always wanted a world their own
CHORUS
Never-ending war
Never-ending war
Since I can remember, January through December
Never-ending war
V3
The Ten Commandments don’t apply
The Golden Rule is a lie
Can’t say Jesus didn’t warn us of the storm before us
All that’s left is an eye for an eye
CHORUS
Never-ending war
Never-ending war
Since I can remember, January through December
It’s never-never-never-ending-war
Never, never-ending war
Never-ending war
Since I can remember, January through December
It’s never-never-ending-war.

@HummerWisdom - human nature to conquer and divide, unfortunately, never will end.

This has a nice anthemic feel to it. I really like the chorus, the way your voice goes up in the middle of "war" in the second line and the way the third line changes up the repetitive pattern. When I saw it was over 5 minutes long, I thought I would get bored of this and at first, I thought it was too slow, but I changed my mind 🙂.
The lyric is good too, although the opening line ties it to a specific event rather than a comment on wars in general. I don't agree that wars are always about money (they might be easier to solve if they were), although there are always those who profit from them. Regardless, it works well, as does your voice here.

I'm not sure this one is quite coming off. I like the message and the theme, but I feel like it needs some angle on the situation to give it a fresh feel. Which is so easily said and so hard to do! Not sure I could. For me the pace was a little slow - which certainly matches the song!! But as always, just a personal reaction. You're just as likely to have someone post exactly the opposite!
Keep 'em coming Renee!

@HummerWisdom
The only thing I'd change is mentioning the United States and Israel.
Due to the Internet, and how political everybody is now, all looking for a fight, you'll get one mentioning that.
You can allude to it, but I think direct mentions. I think the rest of it works fine.
Good tune and insight!1 -
I'm afraid unless Jesus comes back , will always have wars

@ElvisNash if only it were true Jesus coming back. I'm beyond that lie. Not that I'm not a Believer but the Scriptures are pretty clear the coming and goings of Jesus was 2000 years ago. Anyway, I appreciate your humor and I agree, 'will always have wars'.

Hola @HummerWisdom
I thought I'd commented on this song... but I see I haven't!!! A very good song, your voice gives it a dark solidity, the kind that the story exudes.
Very good lyrics and a catchy chorus, very catchy despite saying what words say.
War is now just another football team, one derby after another that we all attend whether we like it or not, and that turns us into accomplices barking at our own shadows.

@MoraAmaroLaLoba Wow! Thank you for taking the time and I love your take on war: "War is now just another football team, one derby after another that we all attend whether we like it or not, and that turns us into accomplices barking at our own shadows."
What a bold and poetic statement!
