lyrics SS : music/vocals Ai

There is positively no truth in the rumour I started, that I want a regime change in America!

Mr Bean and I have no desire to replace the Orange Man for at least a fortnight, ...........charg,,eeeeeeeeeee!

[verse 1]

They don't want to take your jobs,

they're not asking, you let them in.

What they ask for, is your charity,

to feed the elderly, an' the dyin'.

[verse 2]

They weren't born in Beverley Hills,

their hills, are barren dunes.

Nothin' grows in that heat,

no flowers, will ever bloom.

[chorus]

Not everyone's American,

poverty's, where they grew.

Don't turn ya back on them,

that's all, they ask of you.

[verse 3]

They want to stay, an' fight for life,

cos that's all, they've ever known.

Turn the sand, into fertile land,

then the seeds, they can be sown.

[verse 4]

They're not lookin', for a handout,

but your help, to get them there.

A pittance, of what you can afford,

after all, you're pollutin' their air.

[chorus]

Not everyone's American,

poverty's, where they grew.

Don't turn ya back on them,

that's all, they ask of you.

[bridge]

Your cars an' factories, pollute the earth,

climate change, is killin' their soil.

Nothing will grow, it's a land of death,

doesn't matter, how hard they toil.

[final chorus]

Not everyone's American,

poverty's, where they grew.

Don't turn ya back on them,

that's all, they ask of you.

[outro]

In your rush, to make things great,

spare grains, for those you're killin'.

Repay the debt, to those you owe,

for the lifestyle, you are livin'.

Sounds like somebody took a bitter pill this morning. The fight for our independence was over 200 years ago, at some point you're going to have to let that go 🤣🤣. Fun fact, during that war, we did try to take quebec and montreal and failed, also failed again in 1812.. maybe 3rd times a charm.😁. BTW, those that hate on Americans are just jealous 😝. you didn't post the disclaimer :) this has nothing to do with your song,

Not unless someone's slippin' it in my Weetabix. To clarify, any and all my political songs are aimed solely and exclusively at politicians, not people and certainly not countries. The vast majority, in my opinion are self-serving and hypocritical. There are exceptions, but too few and far between to matter. There's no disclaimer, I don't need one, I'll be taking a break for 3-4 weeks so in advance of any and all comments, good, bad or indifferent, I thank you for your time and trouble.

  • that's unfortunate. but understandable. see you when you get back :)

  • The Immigration situation in America is a tragedy, and that's coming across loud and clear.

Not sure that mixing in the pollution aspect is helping that message. For me that risks losing focus, and may put some people off who would otherwise agree with you. Not saying it isn't valid though!

Wow I was very moved listening to the song!!! So clear difference even being poetry!!! I always ask myself why some of us are born here and others there... and why we call poverty "exotic" but coming back to your song, great one and nice and simple arrangement, it does not need anything else.

There is a regime change in America with ole Trump The Immigration situation has gotten worse over the years . illegals have taken over a lot of industries like construction , in Calif anyway . Most company's have white mangers . but all the work is done by hispanics .

    Good song Sid

  • @sidshovel Tender & Tough subject matter to tackle. There are two sides to every story. And basically, we're all screwed in this world always at war.
