Living together apart

Living together; apart
[verse]
We used to go out to parties.
Dance and have a good time.
Some nights we would watch a movie.
Share a bottle of wine.
[guitar solo]
[verse]
You used to come home with roses.
for no reason at all.
If you had to go out of town;
You never failed to call.
[pre chorus]
Now you don’t bring me roses.
We haven’t kissed in a year.
I watch the cooking channel.
You watch football and drink beer.
[verse]
I used to bake you fresh brownies.
we’d kiss when you came home.
You’d flirt with me in the kitchen.
Hardly leave me alone.
[pre chorus]
It’s more like we’re just roommates.
I’m not sure we’re even friends.
We sleep in separate beds.
We’re far too broken to mend.
[chorus]
We’re living together, living together;
living together; apart.
We’re living together, living together;
living together; apart.

  • Solid lyric. I suspect there's far too many people living just like this.

    Does the chorus follow the first pre-chorus? It isn't shown, but you might be missing an opportunity to hammer home your hook if you don't.

    I wonder about having the guitar solo so early. Maybe better after v2? Then come back in with pre-chorus and chorus? One to listen to before making any decisions I suspect.

    The chorus looks a little repetitive, but I've seen you favor this style of chorus before. And it certainly can work. Another one to listen to first I believe.

    Looking good.
