[Verse 1]

I have to replace you

It’s not easy to do

But it’s necessary and long overdue

You’re good at correcting others

But the red pen seems to

Run out of ink

When it comes to you

[Verse 2]

Played my mind and body

For a fool

Nothing but drama since I met you

Took me for granted

Kindness for weakness

And can no longer fathom it

[Chorus]

Enough is too much

I will lose you

But gain me

Once blind but now I see

Turning over a new leaf

For a better me

[Verse 3]

I should have left

Years ago

No woulda, shoulda

Coulda saved me, tho

Couldn’t understand

The internal fight

The external plight

Unable to grow

And the reason

I’m letting you go

[Chorus]

Enough is too much

I will lose you

But gain me

Once blind but now I see

Turning over a new leaf

For a better me

[Outro]

Once blind but now I see

Turning over a new leaf

For a better me (a better me)

  • @TammyB - another really cool song. very relatable. song to chill with the headphones on and light s off, and just exist, well done :)

  • Lovely lyric! Seems well suited to this soul style.

    I really liked:

    You’re good at correcting others

But the red pen seems to

    Run out of ink

    When it comes to you

"Enough is too much" would be another good title, though I can see you're focusing on the empowerment side of things.

I like the melody Suno came up with, but less keen on the accompaniment - a bit choppy for my taste.

    Good stuff Tammy!

  • @TammyB Beautiful song through and through. And it's refreshing to hear a better woman song versus the usual better man songs but feeling this song could be sung by either sex. Your opening line sort of punches you in the face as nobody wants to be replaced.

Looking forward to the completed album! What a great theme; self-empowerment and love.

A very nice song indeed Tammy, enjoyed that.

Constructive comment: try to introduce some more dynamics with the song, e.g. chorus v verse, the power curve doesn't vary enough.

If it helps, here's a list of section prompts that you can consider to inject variation into the flow of a song.

    .......................................................................................................................................................................

[Opening Theme]: Sets the tone and introduces key musical motifs or themes.

[Verse]: Presents the main lyrical content and melody of the song.

[Chorus]: The focal point of the song, featuring a catchy melody and often the main message or theme.

[Bridge]: Provides contrast and serves as a transition between different sections of the song.

[Solo]: Showcases instrumental virtuosity or improvisation, often featuring a single instrument.

[Interlude]: Offers a brief musical break or transition between sections.

[Chorus Variation]: A modified version of the chorus, adding variation to keep the song interesting.

[Outro]: Concludes the song, often by revisiting key themes or motifs and providing a sense of resolution.

[Introduction]: Sets the mood and prepares listeners for the main sections of the song.

[Pre-Chorus]: Builds anticipation and tension leading into the chorus.

[Bridge]: Provides a departure from the main structure of the song, adding variety and interest.

[Instrumental Break]: Allows for instrumental exploration or variation without vocals.

[Final Chorus]: A climactic repetition of the chorus, often with added intensity or emotion.

[Hook]: The most memorable and catchy part of the song, designed to grab the listener's attention.

[Build-Up]: Increases tension and anticipation, typically leading into a drop or chorus.

[Drop]: The climax of the song, featuring a sudden release of energy and often a change in rhythm or instrumentation.

[Breakdown]: Reduces the intensity temporarily, providing contrast and allowing for buildup towards another climax.

[Build-Up 2]: Similar to the first build-up, but often with added elements or variations.

[Second Drop]: Another climactic moment, often with variations or developments from the first drop.

[instrumental, 32 bars, violin, strings, orchestral]

You can expand on these by adding specifics such as, [Drop, soft violins]

    Hope this helps,

    Sid
