[verse]
She’s a calico cat, she’s a
mystery.
She’s a little bit this and that.
She’s a box full of puzzle pieces.
She’s caucasian, asian and black.
[pre chorus ]
She’s a collage of different races.
People in far away places.
[chorus ]
There’s no defining who she is.
She comes from the tree of life.
The tree of life, the tree of life.
She comes from the tree of life.
[verse]
She’s a carnival ride, an adventure.
She’s a little bit hard to read.
She’s a box full of chocolate candy.
She’s impossible to leave
be.
[pre chorus ]
She’s a collage of races.
People in far away places.
[chorus ]
There’s no defying who she is.
She comes from the tree of life.
The tree of life, the tree of life.
She comes from the tree of life.
[bridge]
She’s a little bit this, and that.
The best of many worlds.
Perhaps you’ve seen her before shes
the universal girl.
[tag]
She’s a calico cat, she’s a mystery.
She a little bit this and that.
Carroll, please remember to post the lyrics here on TSF. If I can do it, so can you.
Not sure how this one will go down with a modern audience. Whilst it's clearly framed very positively "The best of many worlds", it's a discussion about her race / ethnicity and little else.
The "calico cat" metaphor is vivid, but could be perceived as demeaning.
