Gypsy's box

Lyrics Me; Music- Suno

https://suno.com/s/D6gW1qTXGSxU9L1T

Suno nailed this first shot, to be honest, ChatGPT created the prompt, I can't take credit for that.

the words are all mine, naturally.

Got this idea from watching the first Hellraiser movie.

Except changed the beginning from the cantina to a forest

[Verse 1]

In a misty forest

Of purpled greens

A gypsy woman holds

A mystical cube

Lines and circles,

Puzzles to solve,

Price that's paid

Always costly

Ultimate sacrifice

Soul from skin

[Pre-chorus]

Free your mind

Purify your heart

Release your soul

From this plane

Are you ready?

[Chorus]

Heaven and hell

Pleasure and pain

Gypsy's box never tells

Hidden hooks and chains

How long can you abstain

From absolute pain

Will you ever escape

From eternal anguish

[Verse 2]

Trembling fingers

Rotate dials and levers

Cube turns multicolored

Contorts and transforms

Final pattern locked

The sky shrieks

Hooks and chains fly

Grabs and tears flesh

Can you feel the pain

So much pain

[Pre-chorus]

Free your mind

Purify your heart

Release your soul

From this plane

Are you ready?

[Chorus]

Heaven and hell

Pleasure and pain

Gypsy's box never tells

Hidden hooks and chains

How long can you abstain

From absolute pain

Will you ever escape

From eternal anguish

[Bridge]

Skin pulled taught

Agonizing eternal

Do you regret

Choices made

Can Never change

Time moves forward

[Outro]

A weeping marian bleeds

Featherless doves cry

Fragmented torn skin

Lies on stained floors

Soul from mind released

Into the mystic cube

Perpetual suffering

Is nevermore

Pretty powerful piece Bill, or should I say overpowering. Suno really captured this! Quite a rollercoaster ride of emotional outburst.

This encapsulates what you were saying a while back about not needing to understand the words to appreciate the song.

Actually enjoyed this one quite a lot, Bill.

  • @sidshovel - Thanks for the comment. welcome to the deep world of progressive / experimental rock. it's about the overall experience. Essentially in the movie the protagonist buys a box thinking he's going to get pleasure and ends up losing his skin. Pleasure and pain are all relative. In the end, sometimes we can't escape the choices we've made and end up in a box.

  • this song got buried from chris' barrage of comments :)

I love it and the melody is lit! But why do I want the vocals to be louder???? I want to be able to blast it on a lower volume.

It seemed like it was holding back. Teasing me with a climax. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it correctly. lol.

Great work and I can't wait to hear more from you. I always get excited when I see your post. :-)

  • @TammyB - thanks for the comment. how does this one sound? https://suno.com/s/xZYunz2ericfg56z

the music is not as pronounced, pushing the vocals out.

The vocals on version 2 are much better but the melody on version 1 is lit!

    Especially when he sings:

    Will you ever escape

From eternal anguish (the way he holds this note). Wow..

I don't know about anyone else but whenever I hear rock, I want to blast it. :-)

  • @TammyB - If I knew how to mix, I could just port it into a daw and mess with :)

  • I'm not familiar with the movie, but that hardly matters, the images you've painted are so vivid!

A heavy rock opera vibe to this one. Suno has done very well with the transitions between the various parts.

And there's progression and an ending to the storyline as well.

Feels very rounded and complete. Not necessarily my thing, but well crafted.

  • Sounds like a lovely person Bill , Your above me on lyrics , but Suno does a good job as always

  • @RainyDayMan - Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate it. You're not missing much; the movie was horrible. interesting concept. The programming of Suno has gotten a lot better, it won't be long before you really can't tell human vs AI.
