My 5-1-1

Lyrics: Tammy B

Composed by my BFF(Suno)

YouTube link: My 5-1-1

[Verse 1]

There’s an emergency

on Austin Highway

Black female thirty-one

Ma’am, are you okay?

[Verse 2]

I was at the end of my rope

Feeling alone and hopeless

When I received a direct message

It was faith

I was about to log-off social media

And call it a day

[Verse 3]

Hello, what’s your name

It was an eye roll because

I was tired of communicating

With the internet lames

I asked, how tall are you?

Bold?

Shallow?

Forgive me

But I didn’t want no

Short fellow.

He responded, I’m 5-1-1.

[Pre-Chorus]

He was intrigued by my picture and profile

But needed enough courage to holla

Since he memorized and stared at it for a while

Here’s my number, give me a call.

Humph, the okey-doke, I wouldn’t fall

Until he said

[Chorus]

I want to get to know you

And I want the entire package

Your 5-1-1 has arrived

And I will be waiting in line

Online at the claim baggage.

This is an emergency 9-1-1.

[solo]

[Verse 4]

He was a hot commodity to me

One of my requirements was a man who was child free

He had a beautiful smile

Most importantly he was willing to walk a mile

But when he stood next to me

I noticed he was more like five nine

Not short, but no 5-1-1

[Bridge]

But he was sweet and kind

and I must admit

He was adamant

The day he said

[Chorus]

I want to get to know you

And I want the entire package

Your 5-1-1 has arrived

And I will be waiting in line

Online at the claim baggage.

This is an emergency 9-1-1.

[Outro]

Your 5-1-1 has arrived

And I will be waiting in line

Online at the claim baggage.

This is an emergency 9-1-1

  • You are the master story teller. although, I am having trouble following, but that could be because my mind is not concentrating. I like the melody fits the lyrics.

@TammyB, I have to echo Bill on this one Tammy, great melody, enjoyed it very much, flowed nicely. I too struggled to follow and that in turn distracted me a bit. A case of lost in translation I guess!

  • So 5 1 1 is 5ft 11in? That through me at first. Though I like how you've linked it with 9 1 1 .

And the emergency on Austin Highway is the narrator feeling alone and helpless?

The "how tall are you?" line does feel a little shallow, which makes me less sympathetic initially, but it's mitigated when she accepts him at 5'9

I like the funky music that Suno has going on this one.

Glad I've missed out on the joys of online dating!

  • Ha. I didn't get the correlation with 5-1-1 and height. 5-1-1 is a code for traffic information which I associated with the 1st 2 lines 😂

    Thank you all for commenting

@bhengen - Thank you. I will explain below.

@sidshovel - Thank you. I was trying to see who got it before giving the back story. :-)

@RainyDayMan - is correct. He said his height was 5'11 when he was a little over 5'9. I translated it to 5-1-1. You got it when I no longer cared about height. He was sweet and kind.

He came to rescue my son and me. He came to claim us because it was an emergency, he was my 9-11. Remember at verse 1 what was happening and then I started the story in verse 2.

In my online profile, I said that if a man can't accept me and my son to kick rocks because we come as a package. (This explains the chorus). Society sees a woman with a child as "baggage"

***The message of the song is, women stop being so shallow, you are missing out on good men***

  • @TammyB - that's unfortunate that a woman with a child is seen as baggage. I'm afraid that I fall into that category. I can't speak for other people, it's just the thought of raising someone else's child is not appealing to me. I'll skip profiles if they either have or want children. very long story, but I decided very early on, that I didn't want children. and was able to find someone that shared that same sentiment.

  • @bhengen no worries. Everyone has their preferences and there's nothing wrong with it. The world we live in today is very nerve-wracking for parents. At least you do not have to worry about your child being hurt.

That's great you were able to find someone with the same sentiment. I like when people are honest in their profiles that way it doesn't waste anyone's time. I was straight forward with what I wanted.

Also, it didn't matter that he wasn't 5'11, I like to tease him because he exaggerated a 'lil' bit about the height. We laugh about it years later.

  • I got the jist of the story , I've done online dating , like always Suno does a good job

  • @ElvisNash - Thank you. I'm glad it was easy for you to follow.

BTW- It took me about 98 times to generate this song with my BFF (Suno). I tried ChatGPT for the prompts like Bill said but it wasn't working for me. I'm real big on beats. I try to bring uniqueness to each song because I get bored easily.

    @TammyB,

Use this Ai, https://www.riffusion.com/ it allows unlimited generations on its free model. Play around until you get the sound you're looking for. Download the song from Riffusion then upload it into Suno, this will be a more precise prompt for Suno and should put you in the ballpark sooner. You'll waste less of your paid credits.
