Original song - My Way (with normalization and compression)

I just wrote and recorded this song. I took the suggestion from this forum (thank you Hardtwistmusic) of using normalization and compression. So this is the sound quality test! Does the recording quality sound decent now?
This song lyrically is if you follow someone else you get what they get - so follow your own way!

Lyrics:
I don't care
What the people say
I'm going to do it my way
I found my freedom
Being all alone
I don't even own a telephone
What ever happened to that popular man?
He ended up in a traffic jam
That's what he become
And that's really dumb
I don't care
What the people say
I'm going to do it my way
I found my freedom
Being all alone
I don't even own a telephone
What ever happened to that popular man?
He ended up in a traffic jam
That's what he become
And that's really dumb

You need a producer , Your not in a studio yet ? What's stopping you ? Don't pay them mafaia credit cards for 3 months

I'm not so "into it" that I would do that. Now, if someone came to me and said "I'm the owner of (major record company). We think your music has potential to sell. Would you like to do an album for us?". Then I definitely would do it. I know. I'm dreaming.

No that's going to happen , it's $$$$$$$$$$$ , Get it in a studio , have a decent product to highlight . Sitting on your death bed , Man I should have went to the studio , Not paying the mafia on bills . Number one thing old people say , I should have taken more chances, as that long dirt nap gets closer . Major labels don't develop bands anymore , bunch of lawyers running them . They would not know a good song , if it hit them on the head with a hammer . Bunch of EDM nonsense what I heard yesterday lol. What was the hook ? No idea buried in drum loops . You guys ever heard of a guitar ? Apparently not . Shut that off , Jesus Christ that's horrible

The recording quality sounds good to me. The tone is good on both the guitar and vocals, you can hear each one distinctly without muddiness, and they complement one another well.
I like the melody as well. Doubling it with guitar and vocals seems to work here, and gives the whole thing a kind of droning nature that has a nice smolder to it.
There is a little gap after the solo following the first chorus, around 1:20. A bit too much of a stop before leading into the next section; it feels for a moment like the song is over. My ear wants a little bit of overtone to carry over or something, to keep it feeling connected.
Reading the lyrics, I had a hard time believing that "that's really dumb" would have any impact as a closing line for the chorus. It's just so simple and... childish, I guess? It's like singing "I'm so sad, I feel bad." It's not something I'd ever consider using. But listening, I'm more torn. I think you do deliver it well and it does sort of fit the tone of the piece. It feels like it's that way on purpose, and there's some punk irony in that, like a rock and roll middle finger to pretension. So like, I feel like it shouldn't work for me, but I think maybe it does after all.
In terms of meter, the delivery of the title lyric feels a bit stretched out to me where e.g. "my own way" perhaps wouldn't. The line "I don't even know a telephone", by contrast, feels rushed and crowded. Again, in the context of the style, for me both of these things kinda still work, but not entirely.

Oh driving to a studios a hour away in the snow , Singing your heart out . Did we get it ? , yeah . Online banking nightmares , blah blah blah blah . Did you hear the latest bullshit on AI with a producer ? Yeah pointless . passing cemateries , How deppprsssing

The message is coming through quite clearly in this lyric. It feels like a complete thought.
Highlight is still your guitar playing, particularly in the break.
The normalisation and compression is definitely working for you, it sounds much cleaner to me.

Thanks. I think you're all right on. The lyrics were based on a good idea but were rushed, as I had to go to visit someone today. I just remembered right after I got back from a long summer holiday seeing online this guy who was very popular in school and he just looked so dumb sitting there with sunglasses on next to his dumb dog. I'm so glad he and his friends didn't include me back then because otherwise I would not have been going on the kind of holiday I did. Instead I would be sitting with sunglasses on next to my dumb dog. Maybe I shouldn't call his dog dumb but it sure looked like it. Both of them looked dumb, just like the lyrics in this song.
ElvisNash - that's one of the wisest thoughts I have ever heard - I should have taken more chances. I would add "I should have done it when I had the chance".

It’s not late , I’m 70 in studios
Building a following
I stagger sometimes singing them lol
What’s Rolling Stones 80 something making new music0 -
Throughout history a number of famous artists of all kinds had their most productive years in their 70's and 80's. I think it can be the best times for anyone, if you can keep yourself healthy until then. Don't smoke or drink alcohol and you should be ok.

I'm going today , 45 min drive , one hour to sing it , 45 min back home . What else. do I have to do ? Bad movies on Net Flix ? Don't tell me... you're a CIA op and it's revenge with car flips . And the CIA op has a bad personal life .

The old man story was to get you in a studio . I'm big on encouragement and down on Mafia credit cards . My lectures are getting better , I should be a genius when I'm dead

I actually like the lyric. It's simple, no frills, but it does the job, especially with the vocal style you're using. I can't help feeling I'd like to hear a bit less distortion on the guitar. Also, have you thought of adding drums? That rhythm would help it all to hang together, give it a more solid form.

Thanks for listening. Yes, I have thought about adding drums but I don't know how to do that nor do I currently have the time to look into it and learn how to do it, even it could be very simple. I think I just want to focus on what I can do and create pieces that stand alone themselves.
