Masquerade
Okay...here's some rock n roll. I finished this on Xmas Eve but, for no reason that I can think of, I left it till now to post it.
I wrote the song, I'm the singer, I played the guitars, the bass and keys and I programmed the drums. Grab a beer, turn it up and enjoy...or give me some constructive crits...I don't mind either way😀

Six am, I’m headed for the station, I got my ticket I’m on board the train
I going south to a special destination, at the club I’ll see Spider again
I get a tap on the shoulder, the man looking me in the face
You ain’t goin’ nowhere, your covers blown it’s the end of the masquerade
I said you got the wrong man it wasn’t me guv, all I ever stole was a pretty girl’s love
He said I’ve been on your case, that’s why I’m here, you goin’ down for 100 years
I was cuffed and stood in the dock, the judge look down, said off with his block
Put on a black cap on n that’s when he said, times up it’s the end of the masquerade
I though about Spider waitin’ in despair, to my surprise she’s standin’ right there
She blew the jail gate with TNT, she hit the button she set us both free
False passports and ID, straight through customs Spider n me
We touch down in some place hot, we startin’ over with a brand new masquerade
Masquerade….oh, it was six o’clock
Masquerade….A hundred years is what I got
Masquerade….yeah, off with his block
Masquerade….Spider blew up the whole damn lot

I don't hear anything different than what's already been playing on the radio for the past 60+ years.. in my opinion I don't hear anything unique.. yes, it's well put together, but it doesn't stand out from what's already been done. same pattern, same hook, same formula,.

Just me doing what I do. I never claimed it was unique. I agree, it's old fashioned. Then so am I!
It is unique in that I wrote & performed everything myself. But that, as they say, is another story....😀

@ChrisPrice - you seem to wear that as a badge of honor, but at the end of the day, time moves on.. i think you'd be surprise how many artist, and I know of one, will adopt AI more into their writing..

I wouldn't disagree with that. I know that AI is here and I accept that it's likely to play a big part in the music business. I never said otherwise.

@ChrisPrice -- I've enjoyed your songs a lot over the years, Chris. This one is certainly no exception. It's your song, written by you, and it's unique. What makes it special is that you composed the music and lyrics. You didn't press a button and have a computer generate music and lyrics for you. Those who do that will never understand the joy of writing a song. I hope that you and all real songwriters continue composing your own music and lyrics, and sharing your genuine, authentic songs.

Here we go with effin' AI again! You know what I say? It is up to each individual whether or not to welcome and/or to participate with AI. The gift of free will is a GREAT thing! As God is Great! I enjoy listening to both AI generated music and human created.

That said, having read this lyric @ChrisPrice , I find it to be a most interesting story. At first, I thought 'Spider' was going to be a man-friend you were meeting up with and was surprised that Spider is the girl! It was a good surprise! I can only imagine a gal with long legs. Now, for that magical listen, AI or not! Chugs right along with your lyric, Chris; this rocker will never go out of style!

Spider Maya is a fictitious lady who's appeared in a number of my songs. Oh yes, she's definitely a gal with long legs, no doubt about that!! But I honestly wouldn't mind if anyone thought it was a guy. Those who know me would tell you that I'm not sexist, racist, homophobic or anything else 'ist'!! I'm not even AI ist, though I'm not sure that everyone here appreciates that just now!
Yes, God is great if that's where it's at...whatever, there's room for all of us.

I've been away for a while, Chris - a lot of stuff going on, not much time for music. Great to come back and find you still kicking it. Love this. Yeah, it's old fashioned - nothing more old fashioned than the idea that someone could blow up the courthouse and sail through customs an hour later LOL - but your combination of story-telling and rock is pretty unique and it works.
