Ice Song
@HoboSage 's "Spring" got me thinking about winter and a song I wrote a few years back.
I live on pond. Some years it freezes, some it doesn’t. One late December a few years back it was very cold through January. It froze hard and deep, safe enough to skate on. But then an unexpected thaw happened in February. I had heard the pond sing before but this was like an ice symphony that went on for two days and nights, spooky beautiful....and inspired a song. I was fortunate enough catch it on video.

good song.. for me, good lyrics.. the vocals seem to be hovering at the top of the range, but that's just me..

I've never heard the ice like that! Comes from living in Australia I guess. Glad you were able to record it.
I like this. I really like the picking, wish there was more of that! And the lyrics are very evocative.

@StoneFlowers how cool is that, that you were able to capture ice thawing for your intro? VERY cool!
As much as I'm not a huge fan of winter, I really enjoyed your song. Roots Radio, Murfreesboro, TN a few weeks back, when we got a couple of inches of snow played many sets of winter/snow songs. I had no idea there were so many beautiful winter songs. I'll add yours to the list!

@HummerWisdom thanks sweetie yeah I've never heard the ice sing quite like that. There's prolly sumpin wrong with me I love the cold weather...heading up to VT skiing for a few days...but that's a different song, maybe I'll post it later. Also, I'm still working on Above It All the multi track version.

@StoneFlowers yeah, I saw in another discussion you like winter. I guess, the ability to ski helps with that. Even as a child I didn't like winter; earaches and all. Anyway, truly enjoyed your song, Stoney; especially that brilliant intro of ice singing!
