Worry About Tomorrow When She Gets Here
Thanks so much for listening to this song from my heart. This title, I've tried to write and rewrite over the past several years. This rewrite seems to hit the sweet-spot! Any feedback is appreciated.

WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW WHEN SHE GETS HERE
[Verse 1]
You know, I miss ol’ Jonathan Long
My, how time moves on
Bartenders like Jonathan don’t come along everyday
Thursday night, Writer’s Night
Me, my guitar and my stage-fright
But making you feel alright these folks have a way
[Chorus]
Leave your worries at the door
That’s what barrooms are for
Pull up a stool, start a tab, order up a beer
We don’t worry about the weather
We’re feelin’ light as a goose feather
And we’ll worry about tomorrow when she gets here
[Verse 2]
And some of us have lost loved ones
Some of us can’t find love
And some of us are vagabonds altogether
But whatever ails you
This barroom family is true
Bobby’s Idle Hour is one of Nashville’s finest treasures
[Chorus]
Leave your worries at the door
That’s what barrooms are for
Pull up a stool, start a tab, order up a beer
We don’t worry about the weather
We’re feelin’ light as a goose feather
And we’ll worry about tomorrow when she gets here
[Bridge]
And tomorrow, she came and went
So many guitar-slingers have passed on
But inside these vintage barroom walls
The ghosts of their precious songs
[Chorus]
Leave your worries at the door
That’s what barrooms are for
Pull up a stool, start a tab, order up a beer
We don’t worry about the weather
We’re feelin’ light as a goose feather
And we’ll worry about tomorrow when she gets here
[Instrumental]
[Tag]
No, we don’t worry about the weather
We’re feelin’ light as a goose feather
And we’ll worry about tomorrow…when she gets here.

I like honesty in your lyrics..., similar sentiments to grass roots, - live for today, and don't worry about tomorrow... :)

which now I have that song, your song and too rolling stoned by robin trower (elvis' song dylan gets the blues, there is a similar line - givers sing the blues) stuck in my head.. :)

I think the chorus works very well in this one.
I'm in two minds about the Jonathan Long reference. On the one hand it's a very specific detail that makes the song feel grounded in reality. On the other, most people aren't going to know who he is. I know the explanation is in that verse, but they won't have any emotional attachment towards him the way you do. Whereas the next couple of lines about Writers night and Stagefright I get instantly and can relate to. Your call on that one.
Definitely one to play live in a bar!

My kind of song, great story well told and sung.
Liked the lyric structure too, different but really interesting.
Well done Renee, great song, loved it.

@bhengen Jonathan Long was a longtime Bartender at Bobby's Idle Hour. He passed away in 2023. Bobby's, V2 is a legendary bar on Music Row in Nashville, TN. While Bobby's changed hands a few years back, it's still a popular bar.
Here's an excerpt from someone's FB post to give you a better idea: "It comes with great sadness that we inform you that longtime Bobby’s Idle Hour bartender, Jonathan Long, has passed away. Jonathan was known for his witty banter and an incredible songwriting. He will be missed by all who met him, but his memory will live on forever in this bar. Info for services is forthcoming, we will post when we know more."
While I didn't know him very well, he was truly the best bartender I've ever known. If you got a compliment from him on one of your songs, you wore it as a badge of honor.
The photo on SoundCloud is Jonathan (the guy in the forefront). I probably should change it to the photo he used on his ReverbNation which is a photo of just him.
The funniest thing, when the line "Leave your worries at the door" initially came to me, I had no idea I'd be writing a song about one of my favorite bartenders and bars in all of Nashville. I was pretty happy with it when it happened!
Thanks for showing interest,
Renee

@RainyDayMan I hear you about Jonathan, however in Nashville, TN everybody knows who he was. If you refer to the comment I left for bhengen above, you'll understand. I appreciate you bringing it to my attention and while I somewhat agree, it would be difficult to replace the lines with anything else (at least for now).
Thanks,
Renee
