Original song - Ridin' the horse - Wisdom of the tribal elders

This is an original song with native American sounds and the lyrics tell an ancient wisdom.

Do you know the day (day)
Do you find your way (way)
Do you know hat I say? (say)
Are you ridin' on the crazy horse?
She left you there
For another guy
Crazy horse
Everything is going to be all right

@robwills Your song itself is structured well with creative ideas, interesting lyrics, and good rock music. I think you have talent and good ideas, but the delivery is stymied by your recording process. I believe a good DAW and microphone would help to improve the sound quality of your otherwise well-composed and interesting song. 😀
Cheers,
Joseph

Thanks. I will get in the near future a good microphone, the one recommended to me on this forum.

The music is strong. You have some real skills there. The ending is pretty abrupt though!
For me the lyric is light on. You mention ancient wisdom, but that's not coming across to me. I don't really know what you are trying to convey. But see what other feedback you get, could be just me!

Rob,
After posting a few songs, I would venture to say your passion and forte lie in the music side of the songs and less on the lyrics or the production. No surprise that whilst your musical skills come in for high praise, the same cannot be said for the lyrics or sound quality.
Your musical skills deserve more support on the words and production side than they are currently getting.
The comments are meant as helpful, I hope you see them as such.

Yes, I see the comments not only as positive here but comments I totally agree with. I started out creating the music on a whim, while drinking Irish breakfast tea. I definitely see the potential and what I need to get there.

Rob have you tried collaborating with a lyricist? Setting someone else's words to music? Or getting them to expand on your ideas? Just a thought and it's not for everybody, but could be a way to get the best of two worlds.

Rob,
I've heard quite a lot of your material, both here and on another forum some time ago. You have some terrific ideas and your guitar playing is obviously very strong. You've been offered some constructive advice about how to go about recording your songs, but I still find your material hard on the ears if I'm honest. Now I don't want to put you off doing what you do - far from it. I want to help you.
It doesn't have to be about top notch production. A lot of contributions on the forums are home made demos and that's absolutely fine, but I really think you'd benefit from doing just a little bit of research on the basics audio recording. You don't have to spend a lot of money and the learning curve doesn't need to be steep. But a computer mic and Audacity isn't enough imo. The USB mic I suggested might help you, but that depends on your computer being up to the task...and you knowing how to get the best from it.
Please ask questions here, or send me a PM. I'm not an expert at anything but I'll help you if I possibly can. Also understand that this is only my opinion - please, please don't let me put you off creating your music and posting it here. You're a good musician.

I have only thought about collaborating with other musicians, I actually have one time. For me I want to keep it all mine, for a number of reasons. I will work on the lyrics and of course the sound quality.
In the above song the lyrics describe the wisdom that when bad situations happen they will work out.
A lot of my songs have a similar positive message. There's also another message that goes with these messages and that's when you put good into the world you not only make the world better the good comes back to you in obvious and surprisingly, totally unexpected ways. There's even another important message that I won't reveal right now. Maybe someone can guess it.

Chris, I hear you loud and clear. I'm working on getting far better sound quality than I have had. When I do I don't think you will disappointed, or at least I hope not. Thanks for all your constructive criticism on this good forum.
