Recorded at County Q Studios Nashville Tenn

I guess on hind site , I should of moved there after first divorce at 24 years old

The 2nd divorce was worse than the first lol

The third , not so bad

The forth , Well were still married

Reckless Tbone kelly was his name

Lived on old Swamp road

All the boy really cared about was working on his GTO

But when he saw that girl in the rag top cadillac

Blond hair whipping in the wind

The bull saw red she wouldn't escape

Ch

He ran 4 stop signs barely missed that train

Sideswiped ole farmer Chad

Putting his life on the line

For the girl in the bright red cad

V2

Yeah the chase was on he grinded gears

the dog yelped in the back

Took a shortcut cross a rickety bridge

Cut her off in a Strawberry patch

One look in those deep brown eyes

That boy thought he had it made

She burned out in a cloud of smoke

The sheriff pulled up and said

Ch

V3

Well the judge he threw the book at him

Slapped that gavel down

I'm going make a example out of you

For stirring up my town

One year no driving that hot rod

30 days picking up trash

And stay away from my daughter

That girl in the bright red cad

Ch

Actually that might have been recorded at Rick Chudacoff studio in Nashville , it's been so long I forget . Rick had a few hits in the 90ties . He had a beautiful old victorian house with a studio in it , I think it was a snowy day in Nashville when I cut that . He wanted to bring me in a major studio and record a album at 50k , Well I didn't have 50k , So flew back to Calif

  • The vocals on this song immediately reached out and grabbed me from the very first word and continued to hold me all the way through. Man, I wish that I could sing at all, let alone like that :-) Lyrical structure is important, and content will always play a role, but quite often, you can take any song and make it really sing and allow it to become totally relevant when you successfully meet it with the appropriate production work...it seems like you have a really strong knack that way, too :-)

I can actually totally relate to that, too. I'm just a writer - I'm not a vocalist, I'm not a musician, and I'm most certainly NOT a producer lol I miss networking my lyrics with producers, musicians, and vocalists, though, and then all working together toward making all of our contributions come together just right. People say that the new AI platforms can be just as good as the way we used to do such things, and I'm sure that in a lot of ways they're right...but at the end of the day, a group of people bringing what each are good at to the table and then all working together toward making it sound good can accomplish levels of art that the AI's can't even begin to reach. I suppose that, for people with no prior experience, they can be as good as it gets. But once upon a time, there was a much better way, and only those of us who actually got to experience it will ever properly appreciate it, too.

And I remember Nashville as well...though I was just a kid in college back at the time in the late 80's and early 90's...still fun times, though lol :-)

AI is just as good as live productions , thats the problem , You have to compete with penney a track songs done by AI

put ya out of business and thats what happened

Well I'm tired of crying about it

  • Great story! Love it that she was the judge's daughter. And also that she is referenced by her car! Seems very fitting.

    Good stuff.

ha ha ha not really , But I'm to old to chase a 5th one . By now they're more like nurses than wives

  • Well I'm still on wife number one - 40+ years later! Hey, we'd both get less for murder!!

She'd certainly agree with you about your nursing comment! She who must be obeyed wrote me off when I was 35!!😂
