Original song - Nine, ten, you're going to win!

This is the last one for awhile. I used the normalize and compression functions as best I could figure out on this one as recommended but I don't know if it sounds any better. How does it sound? Lyrically, t's a positive, inspirational, psychological "thought piece".

Lyrics

I forgot my name

Did I get the fame?

Is it raining again?

People looking at me

I can see

It's because I'm free

One

Two

Three

Four

You want more

Five

Six

Seven

Eight

You're really great

Nine

Ten

You're going to win!

I forgot my name

Did I get the fame?

Is it raining again?

People looking at me

I can see

It's because I'm free

One

Two

Three

Four

You want more

Five

Six

Seven

Eight

You're really great

Nine

Ten

You're going to win!

  • @robwills - sounds a lot cleaner.. you can hear the vocals over the guitar. well done :)

  • Thanks. I think though because I did not use distortion on the main guitar parts this may have been a factor, too.

  • @robwills - you can use distortion, just turn the volume down a notch, that's all you have to do.

  • Congratulations a lot better recording , bravo
  • Definitely a cleaner sound, so kudos on the production. You could even bring the vocals forward a touch, but that's often a personal preference.

The message isn't coming across for me in the lyric, I don't know what it's trying to say. Entirely possible that's just me!

The minor chords etc in the music (which I like) feel like they give it a moody, sad vibe more than a positive, inspirational tone, but certainly thoughtful.

Thanks for listening and making that point. The minor chord, E minor, to the D Maj4th/2nd in the verses is the bad times. The count up, which is a minor progression, is when you're going up and finally you make it. That is a power progression. But yes, inspiration songs are usually in a major key. Well, music doesn't have any rules.

  • That's true!
