Bette - There in the Distance

You sing in the woodlands,

children, in playtime disguise,

find a path inside your voice

for the distance they ride.

They listen to you,

songbirds fly their way,

their laughter resounds,

it's how they pray.

Let the bells ring

through the lands

where promise and pain

hold their best hands.

Let them speak their melody,

let the drums come round

through the deception

as it stumbles to the ground.

They're everyone of them chosen,

as are all of their magical friends;

they dance through the trees,

they embrace what the day lends.

No barrier to grace,

no boundaries to innocence;

the stream below will sing the song

only these children bring hence.

A message of heroes,

of triumph unheard of before;

they'll carry it into the dawn,

on eagle wings they’ll soar.
