Rescue Me - Angie Handley and Steve Lintern
Sorry to just read that this site will be disappearing at the end of the month.
Here is another collaboration with a great singer, lucky for me. This is a very personal pharma injury story, which we tried to couch in a Seventies (maybe Eighties, possibly Sixties!) rock singalong. To get the story across. Hope you like it.

RESCUE ME
Alone at last
The pain comes fast
Shaking and dizzy
And now I'm floored
In the emergency ward
Experts surrounding me
I'm trying to stay pure
Dying from the cure
Waking in agony
Locked up in a tower
I'm fading by the hour
Yearning for some company
Will someone come and rescue me?
A nervous game
A surge again
Another emergency
I'm playing symptom bingo
Now I'm in a window
Broken heart surgery
I'm in a wave
I'm in a rage
Falling, for eternity
The terrors not forgotten
When I hit the bottom
It's the only end I can see
Will someone come and rescue me?
Will someone come and rescue me?
Teeth that grind
A revving mind
High anxiety
Weird sensations
Hallucinations
Don't sound like a good deal to me
Did I mention the torture, the tension?
It's inhumane
They call me insane
Gaslight sensitivity
Will someone come and rescue me?
Will someone come and rescue me?
Oh I'm taking a chance
Just one more romance
There's always something left for me?
I can no longer hide
The answers inside
The key to my recovery
I'm the one who's gonna rescue me
I'm the one who's gonna rescue me
I'm the one.

All makes sense to me , I'm not fond of doctors and their opinions . Why don't you write me a prescription of valium and shut up, Well thats addicting , well so is waking up in the morning , whats that got to do with it
Sounds good man

I liked the emotional state of the song and the hospital/emergency ward idea as a metaphor for a kind of emotional or psychological breakdown tied to heartbreak. It really captures that crisis-like headspace.
A couple of the more abstract lines threw me a bit, but the hook works well and overall it’s a very listenable track.
