An old song from a 20 minute medley from about 5-10 years ago that I always knew I would go back to flesh out. Now was the time. I feel this is the 'median' The Corking Crack Band sound from my 40 plus albums. Its a bit pop-y, a bit expansive, seemingly silly lyrically with a deeper message within. In short, it's the sort of song I feel would be a good one to say 'this' when someone asks what sort of music I write. You guys and gals may have had a slightly skewed view of my output from my recent concept album but I'm not always a pretentious tit. J/K

https://on.soundcloud.com/iSaHu

The List

I got a trowel

And I got a towel

I got a lisp that means I struggle around my vowels

I know that…

I got some CDs

I've had two babies

I've got a dog and he ain’t ever contracted rabies

So,

You may say that the worst is yet to come

That it’s a bomb every time that you hear a hum

If there’s a ticking, then it’s the ebbing of your life

I got a disease

And I’ve got two knees

I’ve got a nose that makes a huge noise when I sneeze

you know?

I’ve got a garden

Sometimes a hard-on

I’ve got some habits, mean, I’m always saying pardon

I’ve got toothpaste

a bin for the waste

I got chocolate cos I can’t get enough of the taste

You ask for something

Please give you something

Well boy you know here’s something you missed

Through all the pain

Oh I feel your pain

But boy I’m gonna write you a list

Yeah, boy, I’m going to write you a list

But you say our time is near its end

When there’s a corner you say it’s too sharp a bend

You need to know it’s nothing you should fear.

I got a cock

And I gotta sock

I gotta nice mantelpiece with candles and a clock

I gotta cool sofa

I used to have a loafer

I got a puppet that I think is Gordon the Gopher

I got a new phone

And I got a loan

I got a wife who never misses a chance moan

Well

You may say that our dreams are not enough

And the world will be kindest on the tough

But then you’d miss the beauty right under your nose
