Just A Kid

@HummerWisdom

Hey girl, was wondering if you could help me with this one. I really like the way this song turned out but...it's written from a boy perspective. What was it like when you were a kid? I mean a girl kid? Maybe add some lyrics. I'm gone skiing for a few days so won't be able to get back to you but..please have at it.

Go fly your kite babe...

  • @StoneFlowers while I appreciate you asking, you don't wanna know what it was like to be me as a little girl. I was adopted and a rough adoption at that, so practically from the day I was born I was a rebel-child. I think you got this one on your own! Listening now. Lyric would be helpful. Rode my bike AND flew my kite, tho'!! 😍

    Happy skiing!! ⛷️

Oh well add to it if something hits you:

Don’t you remember You were a kid

Fast as a bird you could outrun the wind

Swim in the creek dive in the waves

You were bullet proof in your puppy days

They picked you up  twirled you around

So light on your feet so far off the ground

The sun was so bright the world was so loud

You looked up dreamed your way to the clouds

    That’s what you did...you were a kid

    Break

    Didn’t hear what people said

Yeah whatever you were a kid

played in the rain moved like a cat

Throwin rocks in your baseball cap

Barked like a dog wrestled your friends

Skipping stones to the ocean’s end

    That’s what you did...you were a kid

    turn around

    Don’t you remember you’re just a kid

The time is right go hop on your bike

The time is here fly your kite without fear

Don’t you forget the things that you did

Don’t you remember you’re just kid

    Aaaaahahh ah just a kid

    Aaaaahahh you’re just a kid

    That’s what I said...you’re still a kid

@StoneFlowers Thanks again for asking me to help out with your song. I wonder if you might use the idea of your character visiting his/her parents and they see him/her as a kid still. Something he/she still does that reminds the parents or mother or father that he/she is still a kid...at heart. I hope this helps.

You're probably hitting the slopes by now, have fun! ⛷️

    Something like the following:

    Now, it's Thanksgiving day

Pushin' your little brother out of the way

For that bigger piece of cherry pie

You're still the apple of granny's eye

    You're just a big kid

Like when you were a kid

    Do I get a 'T' for trying? 😍

    EARLY TEEN YEARS:

Longin' for that 'T' for tryin'

Oh, how Mary-Jane left you dyin'

    Flyin' higher than a kite

The only way to win the fight

    Brokenhearted kid

    Doin' what kids did

Packed up your things one day

    Thought about runnin' away

    Played "Seasons in the Sun"

Til that record player was done

    Losin' your lid

    Trapped inside a kid

I'll leave it there; running out of edit time and running late for work! But the pleasure was all mine. Use it or some of it or not, no hard feelings.

    Your friend,

Cool concept, one that most everyone who is grown can relate to. Those carefree days for most people, back before the bills that came had your name on them. I like what you have going on this one Stoney, I only have one suggestion, and it could just be me being me, but I would change the word puppy for younger. Good writing, and your guitar work is even better.

………continued from previous post @StoneFlowers Driving to work, the following came to mind for a chorus:

    Go ride that bike
    Go fly that kite
As if you were a kid
    Go ski that slope
    Don’t give up hope
As if you were a kid
