CITY OF MUSIC

CITY OF MUSIC

I got there on a songbird’s wings A'

The city of music and peace

With virgin eyes and virgin ears

I walked around till my release

All avenues were made of tunes

Celebrating new liberty

Harmonies on every corner

There was so much to hear and see

City of music and peace B

I danced to your sound

Till my head was free

City of music and peace

I danced to your beat

And I hope I’ll ever do

City of music and peace

I danced to your sound

Till my soul was free

City of music and peace

The wall couldnt resist your melody

And I fell in love with you

From the Gate to the cathedrals A+

From all the squares and every door

Melodies reach my deepest heart

All music unites to a score

A deep, neverending rhythem

Guides this city’s free men

A soul, that once was divided

Has grown back together again

If they tell you to stop singing C

Stand up and say no

If they tell you not to play this song

Tell them “Go to hell!”

If they tell you to stop singing

Stand up and say no

If they tell you not to play this song

Be strong and sing along!

With sad eyes I had to leave you A*

And go back to my songs unsung

Back to my own, fragile freedom

Where its better to bite my tongue

But yes I take you back with me

My city of music and peace

My memories create a song

-A song I will keep in my heart-

And sure, my heartbeat will increase

  • Seems like a zero mhh… lol
  • Actually, I found it pretty interesting. Easy to find a tune for. . . literally hundreds of easy to find vocal melodies that it easily sings to. I think it's an incredibly viable lyric. I'd offer to collaborate and find at least a vocal melody for it, but I'm SOOOOOOOO backlogged on my own stuff that it's not really something I'm able to do. But I DO think it's REALLY worth proceeding to the next step with.

  • I like all the musical references in it.

Does it refer to Berlin or some other city? I won't pretend to be familiar with many European cities.

Has a hopeful feeling to it.

  • Thank you @Hardtwistmusic maybe we can work together. I’m not into this music-tech but why not giving it a try.
@RainyDayMan you are very good Owen! It is a song about Berlin. Went there with the choir(on songbirds wings) and had a few great days there! And there was music everywhere…literally on All the squares, near the gate, at the cathedrals and even 4-5 ppl that jump in the metro and play for you while you get from A to B. So I just had to write something that I hope is fitting. I do have to say as much as I love Paris and Brussels, I also left Berlin with a tear in my eye.
    Thanks for your feedback guys!
