I'm Gonna Win

Needs music. Still toying around with majors versus minors and trying to mix 'em up. I really suck at the music part. Heck, I could even hear this in Goth @bhengen! Lol!
Oh, heck, gave it a whirl! And I already know what Rainy's gon' say ===> https://soundcloud.com/reneelachapelle/im-gonna-win
I’M GONNA WIN
[Verse 1]
Homeless gal on the street corner
Dressed up in a Santa Claus suit
She’s singing and dancing merrily
With a smile to boot, she says:
[Chorus]
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
One way or another
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
I swear on my mother’s grave
[Verse 2]
Gambler, down to his last dollar
Says a prayer, gives the handle a pull
The odds are stacked against him
His hopes are dyed-in-the-wool, he thinks:
[Chorus]
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
One way or another
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
I swear on my mother’s grave
na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na-na, na-na
na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na, na-na, na-na-na-na, na-na
[Verse 3]
Palestinian girl lost her leg
Bullets and bombs raining down
She wanted to be a ballerina
She settles for a leg up now, yeah
[Chorus]
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
One way or another
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
I swear on my mother’s grave
[Verse 4]
And if I could choose between love
Or hitting the Powerball jackpot
Love would prevail hands down
Long as someone loves me a lot, yeh
I'm gonna win
One way or another
I'm gonna win
I swear on my mother's grave
[Chorus/Tag]
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
One way or another, yeah
I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
I swear on my mother’s grave
Yeah, I’m gonna win
One day, I’ll win
I swear on my mother’s grave.

Add an harmonica, and it could sound like a bob dylan song :) perfect melody for the lyrics.. in true spirit of goth, nobody wins and we all die , horribly :)

Good song Renee, nice music for it too,
one very slight observation is the use of the word prevail, I'd probably consider another word(s), just jumps out is all.
Overall, enjoyed the song an' got the message, well done.

Pretty good! Got that sing a long factor to it. I quite like the chords you're using.
You might consider: I swear on my mother’s grave.→ I swear on the grave of my mother

@sidshovel and @RainyDayMan great suggestion. I tried singing it both ways and liked the way 'I swear on my mother's grave' sounded; felt it sang better. Let me try it again as both of you suggested the very same thing.
So far as 'prevail', Sid, I used that in place of 'win' as I didn't want to take away from the chorus. Just shot over to WordHippo. I could use 'triumph'; maybe. I'll play around with it, thanks for your suggestion.
Just tried "I swear on the grave of my mother" - feels like my tongue is tripping over the two added syllables..could be just me.
And, Rainy, thank you for letting alone starting the chorus on the same chord, Dm as the verses. I was bracing for it and honestly couldn't come up with anything I liked better.
Thank you for your feedback,
Renee

I noticed the chorus starting on the same chord, but there's enough variation within the chorus to make it feel separate.
if you'd left all the chords exactly the same, you can bet I would have mentioned it! 😉

@RainyDayMan I didn't doubt you noticed it! 😉
