When The Rain Stops Falling
One night after days of heavy wind and rain…the clouds broke. And a bright beautiful full moon shone down.
This song is written in an open format, that is, there is no specific chorus and barely any refrain. The guitar does a lot of talking and there’s scat scattered throughout...which is how the moon told me to write it.

Intro w Scat
You see the moon’s yellow beams skip across the water
They’re a kiss from the sky a gift for your eyes
Cuz that’s how you know
Know for sure that the rain stopped falling
Scat
The heat on your face the light on your lips
It’s a sign from the sun that the storm’s done
That’s how it feels
Feels so right when the change has come
Maybe if you take another look
Maybe you see what’s meant to be
What’s meant to be….yeah
Break
Scat
In a dream some night you might be touched the right way
And when you awake you’ll be thinking of a
brand new day
And that’s when you’ll know
Know for certain that your heart’s still open
Like a vista of vast scenery
Like a feeling that forever will be
Endless possibilities
When the rain stops falling
The moon’s yellow beams
skipping on the water
Awe still water
Outro Break—with scat

That is your best yet!!
Everything about it was just superb.
Always enjoy your guitar work and vocals but this was taking it to a new level.
Kept reminding me of van Morrison but a little up tempo.
Real pleasure to listen to such an accomplished piece.
Thank you
Sid

I enjoyed that very much.
I like the more poetic style in the lyric.
Like the vibe and the variation in the singing and music.
Hope the moon gives you some more tunes!

@StoneFlowers just got done listening. Beautiful imagery takes me right there. Your title is very cool and I'm feeling it should be mentioned in the song; and this is JUST a suggestion; what came to me upon listening:
"When the rain stops falling
I hear songbirds calling"
and you could even repeat it 2X.
Could be sung following V2 '(cuz now you're in the daytime) and following V3.
The reason for 'hear' is you've covered the senses 'see' and 'feel' brilliantly.
Anyway, love the poet in you and love the beautiful music and guitarwork/vocal.
Your simple and very singable title deserves to be heard in some fashion.
Now, back to my own messes/songs/lyrics/parts/starts . . .
over & out,
hummer

Great suggestion Hummer. The crazy thing is...that the song was written during a big full moon after a bad storm. And the moon kind of guided me through writting it...so...I'm gonna wait till the next full moon and get some feed back in the bright moon light on your suggestion...thanks for your complements and suggestion my friend...keep watching the sky...
