On the eve of the U.K. election my message to all those ex and current Tory MP's who think they got away with it.
[intro]
[verse 1]
The pages of my life,
I offer for your perusal
Search for chinks in my armour
I'll brook no polite refusal
[verse 2]
For if I am, who you say I am
Then you have me bang to rights
But if I don't care what you have to say
Then you may as well lower your sights
[chorus]
Hang your head in shame
There's no one else to blame
For there will be a day of reckoning
When the dead will do the beckoning
[verse 3]
point your finger from your chest
on friend or enemy, it comes to rest
The crowd know and stare into your eyes
eyes wild, you look to bury the lies
[chorus]
Hang your head in shame
There's no one else to blame
For there will be a day of reckoning
When the dead will do the beckoning
[verse 4]
You took their loved ones lives,
too old to have some worth.
Pile them high and bury them deep
cover them up with lush English earth
[chorus]
Hang your head in shame
There's no one else to blame
For there will be a day of reckoning
When the dead will do the beckoning
[verse 5]
Going to Eton wont save you from the scythe
the rich will share their last breath with the poor.
Offering St Peter to be a knight of the realm
there's no VIP lane through the heavenly door.
[chorus]
Hang your head in shame
There's no one else to blame
For there will be a day of reckoning
When the dead will do the beckoning
outro
For there will be a day of reckoning
When the dead will do the beckoning
a day of reckoning
When the dead will do the beckoning

I don't think I'm close enough to UK politics to fully appreciate this one. There is certainly a mood of wrath to it!

Your right of course RDM, only someone close enough to one of those who needlessly died during Covid can truely appreciate the anger in the song. An audience that runs into the 100,000's unfortunately, who are still fighting for the truth.

Echoing my thoughts on the covid crisis here in Blighty. People, it seems, have short memories. I haven't forgotten what happened and I know who has blood on their hands. It isn't something I'd chose to write a song about but I tip my hat to you (not for the first time!) for coming up with these words.
Well done Sid.

Thank you Chris,
People write the song, I just observe and take down their words.
I share their hurt in every line, not so much a choice as an obligation on my part.
To me these songs are a record they cannot bury.
Sid

Good political rant - unfortunately the bigwigs you're attacking won't hear it - and if they do hear it it the message won't register because anybody with a guitar is a clown and not worth listening to. Ours is a different, responsive audience and pieces like this add to the ranks of the protest.
