God need say no more
Verse
Life’s a series of mazes.
Endless corridors.
It has too many choices.
Too many closed doors.
Pre chorus
I wander thru the hallways.
But I can’t find my way.
I wonder is it hopeless.
I stop to kneel to pray.
Chorus
No answer is forth coming.
God need say no more.
No answer is forth coming.
God need say no more.
Verse
I look I see sad faces.
Troubled troubadours
Whose songs speak of their journeys
Dreams left unexplored.
Pre chorus
I wonder are they lonely?
I ask but they don’t say.
Is dreaming just for dreamers?
Or all who lose their way.
Chorus
No answer is forth coming.
God need say no more.
Bridge
His silence speaks volumes.
Dreams are steppingstones.
To finding an answer
To which way we go.

I'm probably missing something (sure wouldn't be the first time!!) but I don't get how his silence speaks volumes in the context of the song. The verses are all about confusion and stress and needing direction. The narrator prays, nothing happens and that's revelatory? I'm not commenting on God here, just the flow of the narrative. The Bridge is where I would expect that kind of tension to resolve, but the reference to dreams feels weak to me.
I actually like "God need say no more" as a phrase - that's strong. It just doesn't feel justified by the rest of the lyric. But I'm not the target audience for this song either. It's possible it will resonate more strongly with believers.

This is one of those songs that if you asked six people you'd get seven opinions.
I can relate to everything RDM says, and yet I get the message within the lyrics.
The fact that it makes me think, I also like.
Debate is strength.
