TERROR OF LOVE
[Verse 1]
I don't believe in love
Yesterday took everything I had
If I believed in hate
I'd be swimming in it, 'cause it's so fun to be bad
I know it's a crime
But I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it
[Chorus]
Shoot it down and surround it
Love's an illegal war when you get right down to it
Distorted facts
oooo missing intelligence
[Post-Chorus]
(Ooh)
[Verse 2]
I used to be so free
Lately I'm so overprotected
always on alert
Each passerby is love-detected
I'm losing my way
All my senses have been grounded
[Chorus]
Shoot it down and surround it
Loves an illegal war when you get right down to it
Distorted facts
Yeah missing intelligence
[Post-Chorus]
(Yeah, yeah) (Oh)
[Bridge]
I was willing to trade freedom for security
Maybe that's the price of love
(Yeah, yeah)
(Oh, baby, yeah)
[Instrumental]
[Chorus]
Yeah shoot it down and surround it
Loves an illegal war when you get right down to it
Distorted facts!
[Post-Chorus]
(Yeah, yeah) (Oh) Listen
(Oh, that's the terror of love)
(that's the terror of love)
That's the terror of love
[Chorus]
Shoot it down and surround it
Loves an illegal war when you get right down to it
Distorted facts
Yeah missing intelligence
[Post-Chorus]
(Yeah, yeah) (Oh) That's the terror of love
That's the terror of love
That's the terror of love oh yeah
Just
Shoot it down and surround it
Loves an illegal war when you get right down to it
Distorted facts
Yeah missing intelligence

Seems like a love song gone wrong , I got nothing from a war on this . I mean the bang bang one in Middle East

No I didn't.

Oh, is this about a soldier who enlisted to fight in iraq and his/her mate is upset?

It was originally comparing a bad love affair to the illegal war our country was getting into - distorted facts, missing intelligence, etc.
with the line about trading freedom for security another comparison

Trading freedom for security is the sentiment I had when I enlisted, that's why I asked. I gave up my freedom in exchange for keeping the country safe.
Your title sounds like a vincent price movie based on something poe wrote :)😂

The "freedom for security" line was based on Benjamin Franklin's quote -
"...those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."

how does that correlate to your song? That quote is essentially saying the Government has the right to tax in exchange for providing freedom. 😁

The idea of love as an “illegal war” is interesting, and I read it as possibly reflecting a loss of control—either over the narrator’s own feelings or past hurt—which makes love feel dangerous or something to be shut down. It could also suggest a self-imposed rule where love has been “outlawed” as a form of protection. Knowing the artist frames this as political based on the Suno prompt, the war imagery and phrases like “distorted facts” and “missing intelligence” can also be read as commentary on conflict and misinformation, adding another layer. The punk pop rock style fits the more direct, slogan-like phrasing, though some lines still feel more generalized than specific, which keeps the emotional core at a bit of a distance.
