not really, matt was beyond crushed. lyrics still need work then. Because he was actually talking about it seriously. The letter he wrote was soul crushing. I tried to set hit him up on dates. In one he actuallY started bawling then bolted

In real life Matt didn't fight back. Matt was passive, it's only because she changed her mind. I have no idea what made her change her mind. that was between her and matt, matt and i had stopped talking at that point. this isn't outlaw song where he grew some balls and fought back. matt never had balls, which is why she dumped all over him.

in real life, no, but in the story yes, based on the two times he was seriously thinking of ended his life. That what was essentially what that letter was about. again, we stopped hanging out, and the rare time i was home, he showed me the letter. after i read that letter, i was supposed to go to a club, but i called some friends we took him to the beach and hung out. had we not done that, would he have ended his life? we'll never know unless we find a parallel universe where that event happened. that is why i was and still am pissed at sherri. they ended up married with a couple of kids then he died in his early 30's

Could care less on a the real story , that just confused me , My only concerned with song . He killed himself over lost love end of story . She never showed at movie theater and your asking her why . she sounds like a bitch and this man killed himself over her. Happens all the time . With 7 billion other women that could took her place . According to you Puff that magic dragon took this poor guy to heaven . Or God whatever you like . She spent 1 year in therapy on convincing her self it was not her fault . Which is true . You flash back on the story at 2am 30 years later .

there's the disconnect, they were supposed to go to the movie, he showed up at her house, she dumped without warning him end of story. but not to matt, matt at that point in his life did not give a fuck about the 7 billion other women on the planet. he cared about Sherri. you know that it's like to live in depression, you don't always think rationally. I don't write songs from the outside. You write stories where man barks gets drunk and barks at moon. that sells., but that's not interesting to me, the why he was barking is what's interesting. most people don't give a shit about the why.
